Circuits from lumped LC elements for excitation of turnstile radiators consisting of three electric and three magnetic dipoles in the meter and decimeter wave bands are proposed. A calculation technique is developed and examples on calculation of the elements of these circuits ensuring control of the shape and spatial position of the pattern maximum are presented. © 2014 Pleiades Publishing, Inc.

The principle of implementation of a scanning antenna array concentrated in the volume of a physical point and consisting of three electric (E3) and three magnetic (M3) dipoles with axes oriented along the unit vectors of the Cartesian coordinate system is proposed. An expression for the components of the electromagnetic field formed by dipoles E3 and M3 is obtained and relationships for calculation of the complex currents exciting the dipoles and providing specified angular rotations of canonical radiation patterns in the form of a toroid, ellipsoid, and cardioid are given. © 2014 Pleiades Publishing, Inc.

It is shown that a miniature E3M3 radiator can be used as an adaptive antenna array forming a prescribed level of the radiation pattern of the sum electric field in a specified angular direction and nulls in two arbitrarily chosen angular directions. A technique for calculation of weighting coefficients ensuring formation of the radiation pattern satisfying these constraints is developed. © 2014 Pleiades Publishing, Inc.

Design relationships for computer simulation of radiation patterns of conformal antenna arrays are derived. Results of the comparative analysis of radiation patterns of arrays with spherical, hemispherical, and disk-shaped apertures in which the radiators consist of three electric dipoles and three magnetic dipoles (E3M3) are presented. It is shown that application of E3M3 radiators with proper orientation of their axes in conformal antenna arrays can increase the directive gain in the main lobe. © 2014 Pleiades Publishing, Inc.
