A separation integrated technology for isolating refined solanesol from tobacco extracts was provided. Some experimental installations applied in the separation integrated technology were designed, including saponification and extraction installation, cryogenic centrifugation crystallization installation and continuous medium pressure chromatography separation installation. With the separation integrated technology and installations, semi-finished products solanesol (mass fraction 59%) was successfully got from tobacco extracts (mass fraction 20%) by saponification and extraction, again, high purity solanesol (mass fraction 80%) by crystallization, finally, competitive products solanesol (mass fraction 95.5%) by chromatography and recrystallization. The yield of the whole experiment is 70%, overcoming disadvantages in the existing technology such as huge consumption of energy, heavy pollution of solvents.

The best solvent, dimethyl phthalate (DMP), was selected by the measurement of vapor-liquid equilibrium (VLE) data of hydrocracking C 9-solvent in single stage gas-liquid equilibrium pot and the analysis of relative volatility of various components to indane. The extractive separation results of hydrocracking C 9 were simulated by Aspen Plus process simulating software. The optimization results were compared with the experimental data, and the relative error is within 1%. The effects of extraction segment number of theoretical plates, mass ratio of raw material to extractant, reflux ratio on the separation were investigated. The optimized process parameters are as follows: the extraction segment number of theoretical plates is 35, the mass ratio of raw material to extractant is 0.5, reflux ratio is 5, the mass fraction and the yield of trimethyl benzene can reach 99.87% and 96.20% respectively.

In order to purify oleic acid, the orthogonal experiment of the developing solvent on the thin-layer chromatography was designed. The volume ratio of n-hexane-ethyl acetate-acetic acid was optimized, and the precision of method was expressed as the relative standard deviation. The volume ratio of the optimum developing solvent was used as that of the eluent of column chromatography. In order to get the separation conditions, the effects of silica gel loading height and the sampling amount on the mass fraction and yield of oleic acid were investigated. The recycling use of column chromatography was also tested. The results show that the best volume ratio of n-hexane-ethylacetate-acetic is 85∶15∶8, and the method is stable and reliable. When the silica gel loading height is 40 cm, and the sampling amount is 1.1 mL, the separation is best. Under this condition, the mass fraction of oleic acid reaches 88.74%and the yield reaches 82.53%. Isobaric VLE data on the binary mixtures of 1-butanol-iso-butanol-butyl acetate-water were determined with single stage vapor-liquid equilibrium cauldron at atmospheric pressure. Six pairs of model parameters in Wilson equation were correlated for the binary system by trial and error method, and the vapor-liquid equilibirum compositions were calculated. The vapor-liquid equilibrium data of 1-butanol-iso-butanol-butyl acetate-water quaternary system were measured experimentally, and correlated by the six pairs of the binary model parameters. Compared with the experimental data, the results show that the relative deviation of experiment and calculation is less than 5%. It means that the experimental data are consistent with the calculation results. The experimental and correlative data also provide a basis for extractive distillation separation of 1-butanol-iso-butanol-butyl acetate-water system.

Summarizing that the indene of C9 cracked aromatic was widely used in industry, the method of double continuous and vacuum distillation was proposed to refine indene fraction from C9 cracked aromatic. The continuous distillation was simulated by Aspen Plus, and the conditions of simulation such as pressure, theoretical plate number, feeding position, reflux ratio and tower top output rate were studied. The process conditions were optimized. According to the simulating optimization, the continuous and vacuum distillation experiment apparatus were set up, and the spring packing structure was applied in vacuum column. The vacuum distillation experiment was conducted, and the influences of the reflux ratio and output rate on indene purity and yield were investigated. The experimental results were compared with the simulation result of Aspen Plus in order to determine the best distillation conditions, thus providing the reference for the further study about the indene purity and the continuous vacuum distillation of refining pure indene in the industry.

The utilization status of cracking C 9 was summarized. With Ni-Cu as catalyst, cracking C 9 was catalytically hydrogenated in the fixed bed reactor by using two-order deep hydrogenation process. The effects of pressure, temperature and space velocity on the hydrogenation of cracking C 9 were investigated, and the process conditions were optimized, which provides a basis for further scale-up study. The experimental result shows that the conversion of unsaturated components is over 90% in the conditions of reaction pressure 5.0 MPa, reaction temperature 150°C, and space velocity 0.75 h -1, and the final conversion reaches 98% around when taking the first hydrogenation product as raw material, carrying on the secondary hydrogenation in the optimal conditions.

In the chemical and medicine industry, the dichloromethane-methanol-acetone-water quaternary system is commonly existed in the liquid waste.It is essential of the vapor-liquid equilibrium(VLE) data for this system to recover them by separating process. Isobaric VLE data on the six pairs of binary mixtures of dichloromethane, methanol, acetone and water were determined with single stage vapor-liquid equilibrium still at atmospheric pressure. The result shows that the thermodynamic consistency of the experimental data is satisfied by means of point to point method.In the experiment, the vapor-liquid phase compositions were analyzed by using SP-6800 gas chromatograph.Six pairs of correlation parameters of Wilson model and the calculated values of vapor-phase compositions were observed by using non-linear least square method procedure of Matlab.Besides, the vapor-liquid equilibria in this quaternary system were measured experimentally at 100 kPa, correlated by the six pairs of model parameters, and compared with the experimental data.The results obtained show that the absolute deviation of experiment and calculation is less than 0.05.It means that the Wilson model is reliable for the prediction and correlation of the VLE data of the dichloromethane-methanol-acetone-water quaternary system as to its exact fitting accuracy.The experimental and correlative data can provide a basis for extractive distillation separation of dichloromethane-methanol-acetone-water system.

Solanesol is an important pharmaceutical intermediate. In this paper, organic solvent is used to extract solanesol from the abandoned tobacco. The conditions of extracting the solanesol are optimized, such as extraction solvent, solvent ratio, extraction temperature and time. The extraction times are also identified. L 9(3 4) design is selected to investigate the factors above. Finally, the optimal extraction conditions are proposed. The petroleum ether is used as solvent, the solvent ratio is 15:1(volume of solvent is 15ml, quality of leaves is 1g), the extraction temperature is 50°C and the time is 4h. The purity of solanesol reaches to 57.56% and the total yield reaches to 6.39%. © (2012) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.
