Design of robust controller for multivariable systems is very challenging and their automation is a key concern in control system design. In this paper, a new, simple, and reliable automated fractional-order multivariable Quantitative Feedback Theory (QFT) controllers design methodology is proposed. A fixed structure fractional-order multivariable QFT controller has been synthesized by solving QFT quadratic inequalities of robust stability and tracking specifications. The quadratic inequalities (constraints) are posed as Interval Constraint Satisfaction Problem (ICSP). The constraints are solved by constraint solver-RealPaver. The synthesis problem consists of obtaining a controller that ensures stability and meets a given set of performance specifications, in spite of disturbance and model uncertainties. In addition to perform the above tasks, a MIMO controller also has to perform the difficult task of minimizing interaction between the various control loops. Unlike existing manual or convex optimization based QFT design approaches, the proposed method gives a controller which meets all performance requirements in QFT, without going through the conservative and sequential design stages for each of the multivariable sub-systems. In the design method, we pose the prefilter design problem as an ICSP and solve it using the well-established constraint solver. The designed controllers and prefilters are tested for a quadruple tank process and their efficacy is demonstrated. © 2015, Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.

The problem of joint time-frequency representation (TFR) of multicomponent non-stationary signals is considered. We introduce a new technique of masking cross-terms in the Wigner-Ville distribution (WVD) of multicomponent non-stationary signals. Ideal concentration of the WVD is achieved at the same time cross-terms are removed for the considered type of signals. Time and frequency support information of the signal is used to achieve this goal. © 2016 IEEE.

Use of IPv6 protocol is increasing due to lack of address space in IPv4 protocol. Along with increased address space, IPv6 also provides simplified header and additional functionality is put in the form of extension headers which can cause certain network threats, if misused. Network devices and operating systems are not at the matured stage to handle threats against IPv6 protocol. Reason being, not all network devices and operating system are fully RFC complaint. Even if they are, experience with IPv6 protocol is less, so there are possibilities of many unknown threats. This research investigates the threats due to misusing IPv6 destination option and fragmentation extension headers. Attacks addressed are fragmentation attack where upper layer protocol not present in first fragment i.e. tiny fragmentation attack, overlapping fragmentation attack, and flooding attack due to unknown option in destination option header. To verify these attacks, real test network set up is used. For each attack, detection logic is proposed and implemented in Linux environment using advanced shell scripting and C programming. To create packets with attack vectors Scapy - Python based packet manipulation tool is used. The proposed solution can run in host in order to detect these attacks and raise the alarm. © 2013 IEEE.

Single-phase interdiffusion studies in the B2 intermetallic compounds NiAl and FeAl have demonstrated the incidence of Kirkendall effect in these systems. The implication of this observation on the operating mode of self-diffusion in these systems is discussed. The direct exchange and ring diffusion mechanisms were excluded as the possible mode of substitutional diffusion in metals and alloys on account of the incidence of Kirkendall effect during singlephase interdiffusion studies. It is suggested that on similar phenomenological considerations, the six-jump vacancy cycle mechanism, triple-defect mechanism, and antistructure bridge mechanism are precluded as possible mode of diffusion in B2 intermetallic compounds. © 2012 The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society and ASM International.

In this paper, the design of decentralized PID controller for interactive and delay time processes is proposed. Direct controller synthesis approach is used to obtain parameters of the multi-loop controllers. A detuning factor for each loop is specified based on the closed-loop time constant. Then appropriate controller settings are determined using the Maclaurin series expansion and the model of the process. The success of the proposed algorithm is based on the detuning parameter thus the selection of the desired closed-loop time constant is an important factor. The proposed method has no limitations regarding systems weak or strong interactions, multiple delays, and its operating behaviors such as monotonic or oscillatory. The proposed algorithm is simpler and improved performance of various processes are achieved as compared to some of the prevalent techniques. Simulation examples demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed method. © 2011 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

It is an area of text classification which continues gives contribution in research field and it analyse and classify the user generated data like reviews, blogs and comments etc. In opinion mining customer reviews generally contain the product opinions of many customers expressed in various forms consisting natural sentences. A common phenomenon in natural sentence-based customer reviews is that people generally do not express their opinions in a simple way such as "This Smartphone is good", but present them using features of the product such as "the battery life of this Smartphone is too short". The main purpose of this paper is to search for opinions about features of a target product from a collection of customer review data. Genetic algorithm analyses the opinion sentences and determines the orientations of the opinions also provide an exact summary to the user. This algorithm is used to categorize the user opinions into positive, negative and neutral classes and the categorization of text is called polarity of text. © 2015 IEEE.

The approach presents the coarse approach to detect and eliminate unexpected shadow of single and multiple objects from the static background. The initial stage consists of moment based method to estimate the boundaries between shadows and static objects. The selected shadow is parameterized using features like orientation, mean and the center position of the shadow. Using these features model can detect and eliminate the shadow from the background scene. It improves the quality of detection for analysis. Experiments demonstrate the single object and multiple objects with their respective shadow can be successfully detected and eliminated from the scene background. © 2015 IEEE.

Uses of multimedia, video and audio oriented applications are increasing day by day on mobile devices. The growth of these applications is hampered because of limitation in MIPv6 during handover, as MIPv6 is not designed for continuous streaming. Limitations to support QoS parameters like variable jitter, delays in addition to loss of packets for streaming video during handoff. In recent years, intelligent network based Automation Systems are developed in industrial, commercial and residential sectors. The idea of managing the devices remotely can be implemented using various wireless technologies such as ZigBee, GSM/GPRS, Bluetooth, but these technologies require development of software, dedicated devices and network establishment schemes. Hence the implementation becomes time consuming and moreover they make the system costly. This paper presents a more liable Mobile Controlled Automated System based on DTMF (Dual Tone Multiple Frequency) principle which is cost effective. It uses Mobile as a controlling device and prevailing infrastructure of the Telephone System at the receiver end. Also using Goertzel DFT estimation the noise in the system is eliminated and its complete analysis is presented. © 2014 IEEE.

The area of image processing has offered remarkable ideas and competent compression algorithms in the past few decades. The accretion of data generated by applications validate the use of different image compression schemes to decrease the storage space and time for transferring the images over the link. Each of the compression schemes provide different image quality metrics viz. PSNR, MSE, Compression ratio, Normalized Cross Correlation, Normalized Absolute Error etc. This paper implements 3D-Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) for compressing high resolution images with substantial amount of background. It presents the evaluation of the implemented algorithm, along with the performance comparison of other compression schemes viz. JPEG Lossy, Sub-Band replacement DWT and K-Means. It proves to be a dominant technique for multi-spectral images with improved quality parameters achieving 38-40dB PSNR. © 2014 IEEE.
