Effects of different aging treatments on mechanical properties of the 6061 wrought aluminum alloy wheels were investigated. The results show that tensile strength, yield strength, hardness of the alloy wheel are increasedslightly, while elongation is decreased slightly with the increase of the aging time. Meanwhile, changes are decreased, and microstructure and properties tends to be stable. Micro-structure observation shows that the morphology of eutectic Si in the alloy wheel is related with the aging time.

In this paper, comparing ceramic sprue bush with traditional metal sprue bush on stability of the process, the important roles of the different materials sprue bushes on gating system were illustrated in details and analyzed theoretically. In the low-pressure casting process, corrosion and fast heat conduction existed in the traditional metal sprue bush, the casting process is difficult to adjust and large fluctuation, affected by environmental temperature and raw materials; ceramic sprue bush has better corrosion resistance, thermal insulation and high temperature resistance, can effectively ensure the feeding channel temperature, so that casting other parts' cooling strength improve obviously, which does not influence the casting shrinkage, and production efficiency and casting quality improve significantly. At last the riser part of the final solidified waste weight is only half of the traditional metal materials.

Based on mathematical principle and low pressure casting principle, when function relation between mould wall thickness and wheel wall thickness is δt/h = 3/2 λ/cλw, liquid metal can obtain the maximum temperature gradient on the mould surface. When δt/h is 1. 8-2. 2 at hot spot of low pressure casting aluminum alloy wheel, it is beneficial for rim feeding and solidification of hot spot, which is effectively verified by practical production and FEM analysis.
