Low generational polyamidoamine (PAMAM) dendrimers with triethylene glycol (TEG) core and ester groups at the surface have been synthesized and investigated as templates for preparation of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs), by reducing chloroauric acid (HAuCl 4) with potassium borohydride (KBH 4) in N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF). UV-vis absorption spectroscopy, fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, dynamic light scattering (DLS), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) were used to confirm the formation of AuNPs.
