Duplex stainless steel with varying nitrogen contents of 0.22% (alloy 1) and 0.18% (alloy 2) were produced using a conventional induction furnace under normal ambient atmosphere. The samples were subsequently rolled under hot (1,000-1,100C) conditions to various thickness reductions (15-75%). Both the hot rolled alloy samples were examined for the changes in microstructure and mechanical properties. The alloy 1 with higher nitrogen content opens out while deforming above 15%, whereas the alloy 2 deformation in the hot working zone is perfect without any defects. The crack initiation parameter for the alloy 1 is the secondary phase formation in the austenite area, which is brittle. The temperature range of 1,050 to 1,100C is not desirable for hot rolling of alloy 1 and the same temperature range is suitable for hot rolling of alloy 2. © Taylor and Francis Group, LLC. Source

Spin Transfer Torque Random Access Memory perform low speed lookup operation compared with Ternary content addressable memories. CAM as high speed lookup operation with certain limitation limitations such as low storage density, relatively slow access time, low scalability, complex circuitry, and are very expensive. Thus, we use the benefits of Spin Transfer Torque Random Access Memory by configuring it (with additional logic) to enable it to behave like Ternary content addressable memories. Logically partitions the classical TCAM table along the columns and rows into hybrid TCAM sub tables, which are then processed to map on their corresponding memory blocks. Search latency for each design is three clock cycles. The data search made to work in asynchronous mode, which mean data search carried out only when MSB of data to be found is initially found in memory. Ternary content addressable memories search is used in IP filter for blocking particular packets in local area network.This is mainly used for security purpose and to restrict unauthorized access to local area network resource or restrict the packet in wide area network link. IP filters can be used to restrict the types of internet traffic that are permitted to access a LAN, and The detailed implementation results and power measurements for each design have been reported thoroughly. © Research India Publications. This paper reports an investigation of bulk and micro texture in the as cast condition and in hot rolled conditions (50 and 75% thickness reduction) of nitrogen alloyed duplex stainless steel. Bulk texture measurements were carried out using orientation-imaging microscopy (OIM). The micro texture measurements were carried out using electron backscattered diffraction (EBSD) system for the dual phases; ferrite (alpha) and austenite (gamma). The amount of alpha fiber formation for each reduction is reported under the conditions of before heat treatment (BHT) and after heat treatment (AHT). Individual texture components for both 50 and 75% reduction under the condition of BHT and AHT are also reported. The results reveal that there is a definite improvement in the mechanical properties after reducing the specimen thickness to 75% by hot rolling, followed by heat treatment (solutionizing). This improvement in the mechanical property is correlated with the volume of low angle grain boundaries (EBSD analysis) and with the cleavage facets (SEM analysis). © 2011 Indian Institute of Metals. In this work, titanium-titanium boride (Ti-TiB) composites were synthesized by three different powder metallurgical techniques, namely, spark plasma sintering (SPS), hot iso-static pressing (HIP) and vacuum sintering (VS). The mechanical properties of the composites were determined using the nanoindentation technique. The role of the material processing route and TiB reinforcement employed on the mechanical properties of the composites was investigated. The results revealed that the composites processed by SPS possessed improved mechanical properties relative to those of the composites prepared by the HIP and VS techniques. Furthermore, reinforcement of the composites with TiB enhanced the hardness, elastic modulus and contact stiffness, whereas it reduced the fracture toughness and indentation creep. © 2015 Elsevier B.V. In this work, the mechanical properties such as elastic moduli, shear moduli, and hardness of titanium–titanium boride composites with 20% and 40% of titanium boride reinforcements were estimated by ultrasonic and nanoindentation techniques. The estimated values obtained from the both measuring techniques are compared. The composites were processed by three powder metallurgical techniques such as spark plasma sintering, hot isostatic pressing, and vacuum sintering. The composites processed through spark plasma sintering and hot isostatic pressing showed better mechanical properties compared to the vacuum sintered composites. The effects of titanium boride reinforcements and their morphological influences on the mechanical properties are also described. © 2015, Springer Science+Business Media New York. Source
