Compositions having at least one flavonoid of natural or synthetic origin in association with melatonin to increase the effectiveness of chemotherapeutic treatments used in human and veterinary medicine for the treatment of tumours are described. The compositions are in particular for the treatment of tumours resistant to the chemotherapeutic agents currently in use. The at least one flavonoid is selected from rutin, oxerutin, diosmin and hesperidin, preferably rutin.


The present invention relates to a fully moisture-tight multilayer material, which is also able to absorb, retain and not release the absorbed moisture or free water into the formulations containing pharmacological active substances and/or instable components with biological activity and/or effervescent and/or easily perishable formulations; said material being useful for preparing bags, envelopes and sachets for packaging food, dietary and cosmetic products, medical devices and medicinal products. The multilayer material of the present invention is a multilayer material that is useful for preparing containers in the form of bags, envelopes, sachets and sticks coming into direct contact with the formulations of the food, dietary and cosmetic products as well as of the medical devices and medicinal products in the form of e.g. lactic bacteria and/or bifidobacteria in powders or granules, either dried or freeze-dried.


The present invention relates to compositions comprising at least one flavonoid of natural or synthetic origin in association with melatonin for use to increase the effectiveness of chemotherapeutic treatments used in human and veterinary medicine for the treatment of tumours, in particular for the treatment of tumours resistant to the chemotherapeutic agents currently in use; said at least one flavonoid is selected from the group comprising or, alternatively, consisting of rutin, oxerutin, diosmin and hesperidin, preferably rutin.

The present invention relates to a composition comprising probiotic bacteria for the treatment of pathologies associated with alterations of the immune system. In particular, the present invention relates to the use of selected probiotic bacteria for the preparation of a composition for the treatment of allergies, such as atopic dermatitis.


A method for producing raw materials and finished products intended for food and pharmaceutical industries which are devoid of any toxicity toward probiotic bacteria is described. A probiotic bacteria-based toxicity test method is also described.


The present invention relates to a multilayer blister material having excellent mechanical properties allowing said material to be thermoformable, highly workable and ductile. Moreover, said multilayer material combines the above excellent mechanical properties with a high barrier to humidity, oxygen, and light. The multilayer material of the present invention can be advantageously used for packaging dietary and cosmetic products, medical devices and medicinal products. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a primary packaging in the form of blisters whose cavity getting in direct contact with the formulations of the dietary and cosmetic products, medical devices and medicinal products such as e.g. tablets, pills, ovules, powders, granulates, suppositories, hard and soft capsules (also referred to as soft gel capsules), is made of the multilayer material of the present invention.


A composition comprising lactic bacteria for topical vaginal use is described. The composition is effectively applicable in the preventive and/or curative treatment of vaginal infections caused by vaginal pathogens, with particular reference to Gardnerella vaginalis and/or coliform bacteria, responsible for bacterial vaginosis, even recurrent or relapsing.


The present invention relates to an effervescent composition in solid form for use in vaginal applications for the treatment of vaginal infections.

The present invention relates to probiotic bacteria strains having a high anti-inflammatory activity. The present invention relates to bacteria strains as strongly inducers of Interleukin-10 (IL-10) production. In particular, the present invention relates to the anti-inflammatory activity shown by said bacteria strains due to its enhancement of IL-10 production in peripheral blood mononuclear cells, with on the other hand a low capability to stimulate the production of the pro-inflammatory Il-12, thus leading to a high IL-10/IL-12 ratio. Further, the present invention relates to the use of at least one bacterium strain for the preparation of a composition for the prevention or treatment of the inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Finally, the present invention relates to food products, such as probiotic dietary supplements containing at least one probiotic bacterium strain, as an active ingredient.
