Titanium dioxide thin films have been deposited onto glass substrate by spray pyrolysis technique at different substrate temperature(Ts =300°C to 400°C) and annealed at 500°C for 1hr. The annealed films were characterised by x-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy and uv-vis spectroscopy in order to identify their structure,phase,morphology compositionand optical properties respectively.The XRD profiles showed that films were polycrystalline,anatase type and oriented predominantly to the (101) plane.The optical properties of the films were studied using uv-vis spectrophotometer and from that energy band gap were evaluated. © 2014, Sphinx Knowledge House. In the title compound, C13H11N3O, the dihedral angle between the benzotriazole ring system [maximum deviation = 0.027 (16) Å] and the benzene ring is 10.28 (9)°. The C - C - O - N bond adopts an anti conformation [torsion angle = -177.11 (16)°]. In the crystal, the molecules interact via weak C - H⋯π interactions and aromatic π-π stacking [centroid-to-centroid distance = 3.731 (12) Å]. © 2012 International Union of Crystallography.

In the title compound, C13H11N3, the benzotriazole ring system is essentially planar, with a maximum deviation of 0.0173 (18) Å, and forms a dihedral angle of 75.08 (8)Å with the phenyl ring. In the crystal, pairs of weak C-H⋯N hydrogen bonds form inversion dimers. In addition, there are weak C-H⋯π(arene) inter-actions and weak π-π stacking inter-actions, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.673 (11) Å.

Room-temperature ferromagnetic behavior of undoped cadmium sulphide (CdS) and Ni-doped CdS thinfilms prepared by chemical bath deposition technique is reported. The crystallite sizes of the thinfilms have been characterized by X-ray diffraction pattern. The particle sizes increase from 11 to 40 nm with the increase of Ni content in the CdS thinfilms. scanning electron microscope results indicated that CdS thinfilms is made up of aggregate of spherical-like particles. The composition was estimated by Energy dispersive analysis of X-ray and reported. Spectroscopic studies revealed considerable improvement in transmission and the band gap of the films decreased from 2.62 to 2.28 eV with addition of Ni dopant that is associated with variation in crystallite sizes in the nano regime. Magnetization measurements indicate that the Ni doped CdS thinfilms exhibited ferromagnetism and the saturation magnetization decreases with the increase of crystal sizes in the Ni doped CdS nano thinfilms. This finding in CdS thinfilms should be focus of the future electronic and spintronics devices. © 2014, Springer Science+Business Media New York.

Polycrystalline thin films of BiFeO3 were deposited on indium tin oxide (ITO) coated glass substrate by spin coating method. The as-deposited film got crystallized upon heat treatment at 550°C for 1h in air. The effect of annealing temperature on morphology, and piezoresponse properties of the thin film were studied. Grazing incidence angle X-ray diffraction (GIXRD) analysis confirmed a well developed BiFeO3 crystalline phase. Piezoelectric force microscopy (PFM) studies reveal that the film shows well defined domains and domain walls with respect to microstructure and also exhibit hysteresis in polarization switching phenomenon. © 2013 American Institute of Physics.

Amaranthus leaf meal, moringa leaf meal, and red chili powder were chemically analyzed and evaluated as carotenoid sources in diets for juvenile goldfish, Carassius auratus. The fish readily accepted all test diets, indicating good palatability of the tested ingredients. In a 56-day growth trial, all growth performance indicators except survival significantly varied (p<0.05) between dietary treatments. The highest weight gain (1.19 g) was achieved by fish fed the diet containing krill meal (positive control diet), but this weight gain did not significantly differ from that of fish fed the diet containing red chili powder. Total carotenoids were significantly highest (p<0.05) in fish fed the diet containing red chili powder (2.07 μg/g) and very low in fish fed the diet containing no pigment supplement (negative control). Growth, skin coloration, and total carotenoids in the tissue were satisfactory in fish fed the diets containing amaranthus or moringa leaf meal.

In the present study, the gastro protective effect of Feronia elephantum leaves and bark in a model of NSAIDinduced ulcer in rat was analyzed. The lyophilized extract was given by oral gavages (500 mg/kg) three times at 12 hr intervals before administering Indomethacin at 20 mg/kg. Pretreatment with extract significantly decreased the ulcerated area. The volume and acidity of the gastric juice decreased in the pretreated rats. In conclusion, F. elephantum was able to decrease the acidity and increase the mucosal defense in the gastric areas, there by justifying its use as an antiulcerogenic agent. © 2013 A. The investigation was carried out to determine the possible bioactive components of leaves and bark of Naringi crenulata using GC-MS. The chemical compositions of the ethanolic extract of leaves and bark of Naringi crenulata were investigated using Perkin-Elmer Gas chromatography - Mass spectrometry, while the mass spectra of the compounds found in the extract was matched with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) library. 17 components from leaves and 23 components from bark of the above said plant were identified.
