An electronic display device being arrangeable during use into one of at least an opened and a closed state. The device includes a formable display panel having an active area, a periphery area adjacent the active area, and a drive circuit for driving the active area. The active area includes an active area conductive structure substantially arranged along a front side of the active area. The periphery area includes a frame structure for visually bounding the active area. The frame structure is conformal to the display panel. The frame structure is electrically conductive and an insulator structure is provided between the active area conductive structure and the conductive frame structure. The insulator structure insulates the active area conductive structure from frame structure, the conductive frame structure being arranged to thereby shield the active area against ESD damage.

A display system includes a continuous flexible display, two main display supports each structurally configured to support a respective portion of the flexible display, a segment of the flexible display being located between the said respective display portions. The two main display supports are hingeable between a closed configuration for fixing the flexible display in a storage position and an open configuration for fixing the flexible display in an open position. In the storage position between the main display supports there is a free space enabling a partial curvature of said display segment without conflicting with the respective main display support. At least one additional display support is configured to support said segment of the flexible display in the storage position and facilitates the curvature of the display segment with a predefined radius which is larger than the critical radius Rcrit for the flexible display.

A display apparatus includes a plurality of electrofluidic chromatophore (EFC) pixel cells. Each pixel cell includes a fluid holder for holding a polar fluid and a non-polar fluid having differing display properties, the fluid holder including a reservoir having an orifice with a small visible area projected in the direction of a viewer onto the polar fluid, and a channel with a geometry having a large visible area projected in the direction of a viewer onto the polar fluid. The channel is connected to the reservoir via said orifice so as to enable free movement of the polar fluid and non-polar fluid between the channel and the reservoir. The reservoir is formed in a laminated resin structure of homogenous resin film layers, including an orifice film layer and a reservoir film layer.

A display system includes a continuous flexible display, and two main display supports, hingeable with respect to each other and each structurally configured to support a respective portion of the flexible display. The two main display supports are rotatable in opposite directions connected to each other by a respective hinge of a hinge mechanism. The main display supports are rotatable between a configuration for fixing the flexible display in a closed storage position and a planar configuration for fixing the flexible display in an open position. The two main display supports are coupled with each other by a movement synchronizing coupling enabling during movement between the closed and open position a mutual substantially synchronized rotating of the main display supports at substantially equal but opposite angles.

An impact resistant device includes an optical layer and electronics. The optical layer and electronics are comprised in a flexible foil structure which is supported by a backing structure in mechanical contact on a backside of the flexible foil structure. The backing structure includes a deformable material having a viscous response in a critical range, which critical range is defined for a given front impact event by a pressure threshold (
