Orama is on the development of new high performance multifunctional oxide based electronic materials, processable at low temperatures, including flexible substrates that have the potential to catapult the electronics industry into a new era of growth. Orama will develop, analyze and utilize these new materials and techniques to investigate into device concepts highlighting the potential of oxides as electronic materials in the automotive industry a highly competitive environment being of high importance for Europes industry with challenging demands on information, sensor and resource efficient energy technology to provide sustainable mobility for the European society. It will achieve this by addressing the four key elements being essential for building up the new era of oxide based electronic industry: 1st principle material modelling, synthesis of new materials, development of low temperature and damage free deposition and patterning techniques and novel characterization methods.

According to an aspect of the invention, there is provided a display apparatus comprising a plurality of electrofluidic chromatophore (EFC) pixel cells. Each pixel cell comprises a fluid holder for holding a polar fluid and a non-polar fluid having differing display properties, the fluid holder comprising a reservoir having an orifice with a small visible area projected in the direction of a viewer onto the polar fluid, and a channel with a geometry having a large visible area projected in the direction of a viewer onto the polar fluid. The channel is connected to the reservoir via said orifice so as to enable free movement of the polar fluid and non-polar fluid between the channel and the reservoir. The reservoir is formed in a laminated resin structure of homogenous resin film layers, comprising an orifice film layer and a reservoir film layer, wherein the reservoir is obscured in the direction of a viewer by the orifice film layer, said orifice film layer defining a smallest orifice area that is smaller than a cross sectional area formed in the reservoir film layer.

The invention relates to a display device comprising a device body with upper and lower body sides and having at least one surface support part for supporting the body on a surface, and a continuous flexible display. A support frame is configured to support at least a part of the flexible display, at least a portion of the support frame is connected with the device body and is movable with respect to the device body between a closed configuration for fixing the flexible display in a storage position and an open configuration for fixing the flexible display in an open position. There is at least one surface support part for supporting the support frame on a surface. In the open configuration the surface support parts of the support frame and of the lower body side are positioned in one plane, enabling a supporting of the surface support parts on a surface for a stable user interaction with the device in the open position of the display.

A display system includes a continuous flexible display, and two main display supports, hingeable with respect to each other and each structurally configured to support a respective portion of the flexible display. The two main display supports are rotatable in opposite directions connected to each other by a respective hinge of a hinge mechanism. The main display supports are rotatable between a configuration for fixing the flexible display in a closed storage position and a planar configuration for fixing the flexible display in an open position. The two main display supports are coupled with each other by a movement synchronizing coupling enabling during movement between the closed and open position a mutual substantially synchronized rotating of the main display supports at substantially equal but opposite angles.

An aperture is formed through the adhesive layer where the adhesive layer is not covered by the electro-optic medium, and the sub-assembly is adhered to a backplane having a co-operating member with the aperture engaged with a co-operating member, thus locating the sub-assembly relative to the backplane. In another form of electro-optic display, a chip extends through an aperture in the electro-optic medium and adhesive layer. In a third form, the aforementioned sub-assembly is secured to a backplane and then a cut is made through both backplane and sub-assembly to provide an aligned edge.
