The EU regulation in the field of energy-environment policy and the new RES act in Poland have had strong impact on power system development and the structure of electricity generation sources. The use of renewable energy sources has been significantly increased since a few last years. The tendency is generally connected with limited resources of fossil fuels and with environmental impacts of power engineering, especially emissions of greenhouse gases. Possibilities of wind, hydro and solar energy use in electricity and heat production are limited and their future development depends on a decrease of the cost of electricity and the development of electricity storage systems. The RES support systems are important elements of RES analysis. The paper presents an economic efficiency analysis of the selected RES investments taking into consideration auctions proposed in the new RES act in Poland.

The structure of academic heating plants, using solar systems for heat production is presented in earlier papers of authors. A power of solar panel depends on the effectiveness of the Sun. The amount of energy that reaches by radiation from the sun to the place of use solar panel is a critical parameter in determining the potential use of these energy sources. An air temperature in an area also depends on the effectiveness of the sun. In addition, solar power affects the total number of hours in a given day presence of the sun on the horizon. Therefore, the results of solar power correlation with the values of the average air temperature and the total length of the day in a given month of the year is presented in the work. Moreover, past experiences of use of collectors in the academic heating plant, which can be helpful in future projects concerning their use, were presented.

Poland as a member of the european Community is committed to the use of renewable sources in the production of electricity and thermal energy. This is the result of the european directives relating to this area of our lives. The coal burning is one of primary causes of responsible pollution of atmospheric air, water, soil. For this reason, the consumption of this type of fuel is limited, especially in the countries of the european Community. The possibility of using solar panel to satisfy the heating needs of the academic residential is presented in the work. Solar panel efficiency in different periods of the year is presented. The conclusions were formulated on the basis of the presented results that can be helpful in making any decisions by the use of this type of heat source.

In the paper the results of analysis concerning magnetic circuits in the design of driving signals has been presented. In the research FEM Method has been applied. All simulations for computing flux density, forces, and torques have been performed by the program FLUX 2D v 10.1. The simulations have shown a significant influence of the driving current sequence impulses on the cogging torque in the hybrid stepper motor.

The energy-environment policy of the European Union has influenced on operation of power sector, especially on operation of power plants. The directions of power engineering development are determined by fuels qualities and applying of RES. The power engineering future according to Power Choices Report, Energy Policy of Poland to 2030 and other documents are presented. Power engineering is now in transformation period of the structure of the supply as well as the demand side. As a result some difficulties in forecasting of the longterm balances of power and electric energy have appeared. The scenario analysis methodology of the power generation development is presented.


Article presents results of research of an electromagnetic induction sensor, which is able to detect and locate defects and their existence in tested protective coatings. For some types of signals, conducted a series of measurements by choosing the frequency, amplitude and specifying accuracy of inductive sensor. The article takes issues of ecological advantages forecasting of hard coal combustion in oxygenenriched combustion. The concentration of selected combustion products estimated with numerical methods using. The boundary conditions were formulated in base on data received during experimental researches. The analyzed object was a 0.1MW CFB boiler of a small pilot-scale. The numerical simulations was realized with a professional software CHEMKIN-PRO using. The chemical file included 46 compounds and chemical elements and 152 chemical reactions. The calculations were carried out for various gaseous atmospheres. Within a framework of calculations determined 46 combustion products. The detailed analysis contained selected combustion products, namely: CO2, CO, SO2 and NO. The computational simulations proved, that the numerical methods using to forecasting combustion products were an inseparable and an irreplaceable elements of researches. The technical and measurement limitations precluded detailed analysis the complex matters of combustion processes. The obtained calculation results showed that the concentrations of selected combustion products strongly depend on gaseous atmosphere composition.

Article presents possibility of using multifrequency measuring signal for testing multilayer anticorrosion coatings. Simulation was performed using a measurement system DASYLab. Analysis of possibility of reducing measurement error and presents methods of increasing accuracy and reliability of measurement. Presented solution can be used to control and diagnostic equipment and supporting constructions in electroenergetics.

In this article collected the problems of heat production from different energy carriers included the plant wastes. The article contained the review and analysis of fuels market in Poland on economic and ecological aspects. In support on current prices of fuels estimated the production costs of 1GJ energy from chosen carriers. The heat production was connected with emission of pollutants. In this article both the economic and ecological aspects per 1 GJ of heat are discussed. The article presents the results of the chemical composition of combustion process received with the help of professional software, namely CHEMKIN - PRO. The numerical calculation of combustion products can influence on the choice of optimal, ecological technology of heat production for definite users.

The paper presents the application of real options approach in the decision-making model of investment. The investment of nuclear power plant is analysed. The risk connected with the amount of electricity produced by nuclear power plant, electricity price and cost of electricity (mainly cost of nuclear fuel) is taken into consideration in calculation. The results and conclusions are presented.
