The paper presents the analysis of phenomena in rectangular conductors with harmonic current used for supplying of the induction heater system with an internal inductor. Results of the analysis were compared with computations done in Femm 4.2. program. Distribution of current density and magnetic field were determined. Computations were done for field current frequency of 9835 Hz. Skin effect and proximity phenomenon were taken into consideration.

PWM-FM off-line control properties of Class DE inverter are presented in the paper. Optimum commutation of Mosfets is assumed. Theoretical characteristics of output power control were calculated. Based on laboratory model of ideal Class DE Mosfet inverter (10 kHz/500 W), control characteristic of short and long commutation were measured. Oscillograms of short and long commutation processes in Class DE inverter that were not published before, are presented too. (PWM-FM control of Class DE inverter).

CESB 2013 PRAGUE - Central Europe Towards Sustainable Building 2013: Sustainable Building and Refurbishment for Next Generations | Year: 2013

Multi-family residential buildings, built in the socialist countries in the years 1960-1990 were not designed basing on the concept of sustainable development. Built under specific political and economic conditions, mainly in the concrete slab technology, using low-quality construction materials, full of technical defects resulting from the hasty construction process forced by the pressure of the authorities, they do not meet the expectations for the pattern of today's sustainable buildings. The only criterion for sustainability, which the large housing developments of the socialist period can be proud of is social sustainability, as the flats were settled and are today inhabited by social groups of different age, different level of education and with different incomes. Now, after the transition period, the buildings are subject to a number of works to adjust them to current legal requirements and new standards. Building owners and managers make an effort to raise their technical and functional quality, improve the external walls thermal insulation, replace worn out elements, reduce heating costs and power consumption, introduce new technologies to improve the environmental and economic parameters relating to the buildings. Surveys and studies were performed at the Faculty of Architecture of the Technical University of Silesia in the Polish-German interdisciplinary research project entitled: "The past, present and future of Polish and German big housing estates. Comparative study of urban development models and their approval - examples of Katowice and Leipzig". The group of sociologists and architects made a comparative study of the large housing estate in Leipzig-Grunau and three multi-family housing estates in Katowice. Using research tools: survey and in-depth interviews with residents, focus meetings with the settlements' designers, representatives of the local authorities and local actors that influence the investment process, as well as expert analysis of the buildings and surroundings, disadvantages, advantages and possibilities of development of settlements were examined thoroughly basing on the sustainable development triad of economics-ecology-society.

This paper describes the simulation system of the wind turbine, based on a DC motor. System composed of a doubly fed induction machine mechanically coupled with a DC machine is used to develop and test power control systems based on a wind turbine. Power electronics converter supplying DC motor is controlled by a microprocessor and provides generation of the torque depending on the speed of the machine and an additional parameter, which is the reference wind speed. Simulator characteristics correspond to the exemplary characteristics of the wind turbine. The article discusses the connection diagram and presents the idea of the control system. The research on partial discharge in oil filled power transformer is presented in the paper. The measurements were proceeded with ultra wide band discharge analyzer. The analysis is based on chosen PD distributions and other quantities. Basing on the analysis there was an attempt to location of PD sources. The unconventional approach was verified by acoustic emission method which was also involved in measurements of partial discharge to locate PD sources.The reasearch was proceeded on the power transformer qualified to repair.
