During storage, the outer color change of jet fuel may reveal that the inner quality has been changed. The relationship between the chemical composition and the main reaction routes of the colored component, gum compound and precipitation was studies. It is found that the colored component mainly gathered in adsorptive gum compound, while the colored component and the adsorptive gum were merely the intermediate products of oxidation process, whose production and consumption were in dynamic change. It is also found that the color could not be used as the judging standard of jet fuel quality, while the sediment formation tendency under some certain conditions may be the effective method to determine the quality of color changed jet fuel, and the method of controlling the quality of storage jet fuel by static thermal stability test and ultraviolet spectrophotometry test is very important for solving the difficulty of using color changed jet fuel.

The main capabilities of aircraft reciprocating engine(piston) oil developed by Oil Research Institute of the Air Force and Research Institute of Petroleum Processing were analyzed and compared with that of No.20 aviation lubricating oil, No.20 synthetic aviation lubricating oil. The results showed that aircraft reciprocating engine(piston) oil was better than No.20 aviation lubricating oil and No.20 synthetic aviation lubricating oil in the capability of dispersal and low temperature startability, and its service life was longer, meeting the requirement of AEROSHELL W 15W/50 oil.

In order to solve the limitation problem in identifying pipeline defects by the metal magnetic memory (MMM) method, the present study brought forward a method for defect recognition by Support Vector Machine (SVM) based on the fuzzy kernel function via constructing maximum-minimum similarities of trapezium fuzzy data. According to the construction of recognition functions, the pipeline status could be classified into three levels, including stress concentration, micro defect and macro defect. In the comparison of features between the stress concentration area and the micro-cracking defect, the input vectors for SVM were formed by five feature vectors, including the energy increment of wavelet packet frequency bands, the modified Fourier coefficient, the peak-to-peak value of area signals, the tangential gradient and normal gradient of signal detection. After de-noising of MMM signals, the feature extraction and defect recognition were completed by virtue of experiments. Compared with recognition results of traditional liner kernel and polynomial kernel functions, the new approach can effectively identify cracking defects of pipelines, providing a new method for the pipeline defect recognition with MMM testing.

In this paper flame microstructures and propagation characteristic of methane explosion are studied by high speed schlieren photography technique. By experiment it shows that flame front surface and inner flow field of methane explosion has distinctly fractal characteristic, the effect of the wrinkle of flame front surface and inner reactants on flame propagation can be directly reflect by fractal dimensions. Fractal dimension has a direct relation to flame structure and flame propagation characteristics, and it is the important parameter to scale the flame propagation velocity and flame temperature. © 2011.

A new kind of high-temperature antioxidant(NHA11) was developed. Thermal analysis showed that NHA11 can effectively inhibit high-temperature deposition of 8B lubricating oil. When NHA11 was used with other additives in 4 cSt synthesis aviation lubricating oil, the corrosion and oxidation stability of the oil can meet their requirements.

With dodecyl acrylate and styrene as monomer, ethylene glycol as crosslinking agent, ethyl acetate as porogenic agent, the high oil-absorbing resin was synthesized by the way of suspension polymerization. The effects of monomers, crosslinker, initiator and porogenic agent on oil absorption capacity of the prepared resin were discussed. The results showed that the absorption capacity of the prepared resin was up to 11.6 or more for jet fuel.

A new-type turbine flowmeter is studied with numerical analysis. A computational model for simulating the flow field inner of the flowmeter is established in the Fluent environment. Meanwhile, experiments on the flowmeter are carried out on standard calibration facilities with accuracy of 0.02%. Comparison between the simulative meter factor and the experimental meter factor shows that they are in good agreement, and the maximum error of the meter factor is only 4.1%, thus proving the model is feasible and effective. The flow fields inner of the meter for three pipe configurations-direct pipe, elbow and direct pipe with half-circle plate located in its wall upstream are respectively simulated. And the calculation results show that the maximum error shift of K factor of the meter is 0.12%, demonstrating that the flowmeter requires no direct pipe upstream and downstream. Thus, it is an appropriate choice for the flow measurement in the case where the installation space is limited such as mobile oil equipments.
