The vibrational resonance (VR) and stochastic resonance (SR) phenomena in time-delayed FitzHugh-Nagumo (FHN) neural model, driven by a high-frequency (HF) signal and a low-frequency (LF) signal, with colored multiplicative and additive noise, is investigated. For the case that the frequency of the HF signal is much higher than that of the LF signal, under the adiabatic approximation condition, the expression of the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) with respect to the LF signal is obtained. It is shown that, the SNR is a non-monotonous function of the amplitude and frequency of the HF signal. In addition, the SNR varies non-monotonically with increasing the intensities of the multiplicative and additive noise, with increasing the delayed-time as well as increasing the system parameters of the FHN model. The influence of the correlation time of the colored multiplicative noise and the influence of the coupling strength between the multiplicative and additive noise on the SNR is discussed. And then, the paper describes the key technologies of the network virtual laboratory, gives the overall structure design and the website function module design of network virtual laboratory for the measurement and control technology.

Low temperature sintering of TiO2-base varistor was systematically investigated through doing with V2O5 and B-Si glass. Pellets prepared could be densely sintered from 1273 to 1473K. The highest relative density, 94.6%, was found in the sample sintered at 1433K. According to I-V plots of ceramic pellets, the nonlinear coefficient a and breakdown voltage V1mA were obtained and found to be α=2~5 and V1mA=15~30V. The room temperature dielectric constant was very large, high as to about 20000. Powder XRD analysis has shown the desirable macro-structural characteristics of these compacts. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

In order to solve the uncertainties in the position servo system, caused by servo system without modeling accurately, which may cause the deterioration of the control quality of the electro-hydraulic position servo system (EHPSS) and even lead to its instability, a dynamic sliding mode control strategy is proposed for an EHPSS. Based on dynamic switching function, the proposed control strategy has fast response and good disturbance rejection capability. The numerical simulation is presented to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme. It is shown from the experimental results that the proposed controller offers several advantages such as fast response, good disturbance rejection capability, good position tracking capability and so forth. It is also revealed from simulation results that the proposed control strategy is valid for the EHPSS. © 2011 Published by Elsevier Ltd.

Using industrial titanyl sulfate as a raw material, Fe-doped sulfated titania (FST) photocatalysts were prepared by using the one-step thermal hydrolysis method and characterized using XRD, SEM, TGA-DSC, FTIR, UV-Vis DRS and N 2 adsorption-desorption techniques. The effects of calcining temperature on the structure of the titania were investigated. The photocatalytic activity of the FST was evaluated using the photodegradation of methylene blue and photooxidation of phenol in aqueous solutions under UV and visible light irradiation, respectively. The results evinced that Ti 4+ is substituted by Fe 3+ in titania lattice and forms impurity level within the band gap of titania, which consequently induces the visible light absorption and visible-light-driven photocatalytic activity. The synergistic effects of Fe-doping and sulfation are beneficial to the efficient separation of the photogenerated carriers and also improve the quantum efficiency of photocatalysis. In addition, Brönsted acidity arisen from the strong inductive effect of sulfate is also conducive to enhancing the photocatalytic performance of FST. However, when the calcining temperature is higher than 800°C, sulfur species and surface hydroxyl groups decompose and desorb from FST and the specific surface area decreases sharply. Moreover, severe sintering and rutile phase formation occur simultaneously. All these are detrimental to photocatalytic activity of FST. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

This paper considers the stochastic resonance for a time-delayed mono-stable system, driven by correlated multiplicative and additive white noise. It finds that the output signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) varies non-monotonically with the delayed times. The SNR varies non-monotonically with the increase of the intensities of the multiplicative and additive noise, with the increase of the correlation strength between the two noises, as well as with the system parameter. © 2011 Chinese Physical Society and IOP Publishing Ltd.

Titanium concentrate and titanium slag were used to prepare high titanium ferroalloy to reduce cost. In the process, the 6-9% of aluminum consumption was replaced by magnesium. The reasonable slag system composition was used. The results indicate that the ferrotitanium of 75% [Ti] and [Al]<4% was prepared. © (2012) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Content-Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) is one of the most active hot spots in the current research field of multimedia retrieval. According to the description and extraction of visual content (feature) of the image, CBIR aims to find images that contain specified content (feature) in the image database. In this paper, several key technologies of CBIR, e. g. the extraction of the color and texture features of the image, as well as the similarity measures are investigated. On the basis of the theoretical research, an image retrieval system based on color and texture features is designed. In this system, the Weighted Color Feature based on HSV space is adopted as a color feature vector, four features of the Co-occurrence Matrix, saying Energy, Entropy, Inertia Quadrature and Correlation, are used to construct texture vectors, and the Euclidean distance for similarity measure is employed as well. Experimental results show that this CBIR system is efficient in image retrieval. © 2013 ACADEMY PUBLISHER.
