An approach, whose hardcore is a classification of charges by determining whether the charge starts at the time of disturbance occurrence, of making a re-plan was proposed to solve the problem of multi-constrained steelmaking-continuous casting re-planning. The constraints of the re-planning problem are divided into hard and soft constraints. A hybrid algorithm based on time forward inferring and genetic algorithm is designed for the processing charges, and another hybrid algorithm based on time backward inferring and genetic algorithm is designed for the un-processing charges. The feasible solution of the re-planning problem is solved with the hybrid algorithm and hard constraints, and the optimal solution is searched with the soft constraints in the feasible solution. The feasibility and effectiveness of the method were verified with the help of simulation experiments by production data in a steel plant. Source

The sample of cold-rolled plates, hot-rolled plates and slab were analyzed with the condition of faint-sliver defects appeared in IF steel of Panzhihua Steel, and it was shown that faint-sliver defects in cold-rolled steel sheet were mainly caused by microcrack under the skin of strands, slag entrapment in mold during casting and inclusions in slab during rolling with the analysis on cold-rolled plates, hot-rolled plates and slab in Panzhihua Steel. Faint-sliver defects were controlled effectively with the technical measures, which were decreasing oxidation of ladle slag, controlling the ratio of w(CaO)/w(Al2O3) in slag, extending circulation time of deoxidization and alloying in RH furnace, controlling the casting speed and increasing the viscosity of mold fluxes. Therefore, the ratio of downgrade induced by faint-sliver defects reduced from 10.97% to 1.00%. Source

A production planning system is designed for the whole steelmaking process, which includes desulfurization, vanadium extraction, steelmaking and continuous casting processes of Panzhihua Iron and Steel Corporation. The system is composed of modeling module, data interface module, data analysis module, static planning module, re-planning module, plan evaluation module, plan simulation module and human-computer interaction module. The system is connected with the L3 system of steel plant by using the data interface module, which can receive the real time scheduling information to make the static plan and re-plan under production disturbances. The simulation and plan evaluation function of the system can assist decision-maker to check and modify the production plan. The simulation experiments with real process data show that the system can make a feasible, executable, and effective production plan, and deal with primary random disturbances during production process timely. © 2014 Central Iron and Steel Research Institute. Calcium treatment experiments were carried out on L360QS pipeline steel. The effect of calcium and sulfur contents in molten steel on the inclusions modification was investigated. The result shows that sulfur content in molten steel is decreased to the range of 0.002% to 0.003% and the highest desulfurization rate reaches 85.0%, which achieves the expected result. With the sulfur content increasing, the average CaS+MnS content in inclusions increases in liquid steel, however, the CaS content don't. The effect of calcium content in liquid steel on inclusions modification is greatly obvious, and almost all inclusions in the pipeline steel with high calcium content are modified into spherical calcium aluminate complex inclusions, in which the CaS is uniformly dispersed, and there are few MnS inclusion and MgO·Al 2O 3 inclusions. In order to modify both oxide and sulphide inlusions completely, the sulfur content in molten steel should be controlled about 0.002%, and the calcium content in molten steel should be in the range of 0.003 5% to 0.004 0%, as well as the Ca/S should be above 1.9.
