Investigations were carried out to theoretically justify the increase in the microhardness of coatings produced by thermal spraying using a hydrogen-oxygen gas fuel mixture and an organic propane-butane addition as a result of the formation of the oxides of silicon, chromium, boron, and silicon, and boron carbide. The results show that the addition of propane-butane to the hydrogen-oxygen mixture increases the microhardness of coatings produced by thermal spraying. © 2011 Taylor & Francis. Source

The results of metallographic studies of gas flame coatings, produced by spraying with powder materials using acetylene-oxygen and hydrogen-oxygen flames, are presented.
