The results of modernizing one of the DSV-3.2-G1 arc furnaces at OAO Elektrostal' Metallurgical Works are presented. New automatic control system ACS DSV-3.2 with functions of maintenance, control, and correction of the main technical parameters of vacuum arc remelting is created. The electric furnace is equipped with a modern visual control system for a heat and a unique inert gas (helium) supply system. The rod motion drive is replaced by a modern drive with frequency control of its motion velocity. New control cabinet and desk made of modern elements are mounted. Melting of a pilot series of EP-718 alloy ingots supports the high quality and reliability of the new control systems. © 2010 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.
