Analysis of the physicochemical properties, chemical compensation, and volume of condensates and deposits of metallurgical gases-coke-oven gas, blast-furnace gas, and converter gas-shows that metal-lurgical-gas condensates account for 10. 8% of the total coke-plant wastewater. The metal content in the condensates does not exceed the limits on the metal content in wastewater sent for biochemical treatment and will not harm the purification system. © 2010 Allerton Press, Inc. A diagnostic method for air heaters in blast furnaces is described. The method involves magnetic and ultrasonic monitoring, thermometry, and metallographic analysis without the removal of samples. Monitoring data for several air heaters are presented. The benefits of nondestructive monitoring methods are demonstrated.
