Changes in the process parameters and quality of the synthesized SKI-3 isoprene rubber, caused by using a small tubular turbulent apparatus of diffuser–confuser design in the step of titanium catalyst preparation, are analyzed. The use of this apparatus in the industrial process leads to a decrease in the catalyst consumption and to an increase in the polymer yield without significant changes in the polymer characteristics. © 2016, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

The possibility of using a turbulent prereactor of diffuser-confuser design for directional synthesis of butadiene and isoprene polymers and copolymers on a multisite titanium catalyst was examined. Preliminary forming of the reaction mixture under turbulent conditions decreases the contribution of low- and high-molecularmass modes with smoothing of nonmonotonic dependences of the intermediate-molecular-mass modes on the monomer ratio, which is due to disintegration of catalyst particles. © 2014 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

Results of a study of the fundamental aspects of preparation of an adhesion-reducing agent for synthetic caoutchouc, based on commercial calcium stearate, are presented. A method for preparing an adhesion-reducing agent in a turbulent apparatus is suggested. The method yields SKI-3 isoprene caoutchouc satisfying the requirements to the content of stearic acid, with the content of chlorine ionsa in wastewater diminished by a factor of 1.8. © Pleiades Publishing, Ltd., 2014.
