This paper discusses a method of constructing television cameras that use image stabilization based on a direct method of measuring the image displacement relative to a photodetector array by means of two supplementary orthogonal linear photodetectors. It is shown that the proposed approach makes it possible in the parabolic approximation of the correlation function to substantially expand the range of velocities of the viewing axis for which motion distortions are masked by noise.© 2012 Optical Society of America.

Methods of controlling the charge-accumulation regime in photodetector arrays have been classified. Differences in methods of controlling accumulation in CCDs and in CMOS structures are considered. A method for adapting the accumulation to the dynamics of the subject and a method for controlling the duration and phase of the accumulation when a distance is measured in a solid-state array system with active pulse illumination are proposed. © 2012 Optical Society of America.

This paper proposes a technique for the initial design stage of video systems, including the structural and parametric synthesis of photodetector and encoding devices combined on a single chip. An approach to the synthesis of video systems on a chip is outlined, using an efficiency index that takes into account the interconnection of the complexity and the transfer rate. A method is proposed for distributing the area of the chip between the photodetector and the computer. The concept of parallel input of video information from the photodetector into the computer is considered.© 2012 Optical Society of America.
