The results of investigating composite materials basedon polypropylene and polyethylene terephthalate thatcontain different bioactivesilver-containing additivesdeveloped for the production of bioactive synthetic fibresare presented. Investigations of the migration of silverfrom polymer fibre materials into water showed thatthe lowest silver concentration in aqueous abstracts isobserved when cluster nanosilver is used as the bioactiveadditive, which provides the fibre with prolonged bioactivity at low toxicity. © 2012 Smithers Rapra Technology.
