This paperwork presents a distributed system to be used for implementing a new method for the access control to physical resources, along with the mode to implement various development objects required, and the algorithms used for encoding and decoding the access right. This access control method, described through the QBAC pattern, is going to be used by the employees of a company to access the inputs of any machines, based on the qualifications (abilities) they dispose of.

In the process of continuous casting, the melted steel from the melting pot is passed, through the intermediary of the distributor, in the water-cooled crystallizer tank. In this way, a crust forms here which is solidified at the exterior, and one of the great problems is its cracking or even it's tearing, due to several factors. Our paper describes a new control method we should use during the continuous casting. This method is based on the fuzzy logic, in order to avoid any crack inside the crystallizing apparatus. This method contains two fuzzy controllers which, based on a set of rules established with the help of the mathematical model to the crust solidification process of the semi-product inside the crystallizing apparatus and uses the experience of human experts, requires changes of the casting speed value and the primary cooling water flow.

The authorization is the complex process that guarantees the access to certain resources (physical or computer-based information system). In this article, we present our contributions to the creation and development of a new authorization concept based on qualifications to grant access to physical resources. The qualifications will be obtained through a learning process, and the access control to resources will be realized based on the qualifications, according to the abilities of the entities that request access right. This concept can be implemented by using any programming language, pointing out, in the same time, the necessity of using an integration platform. In this respect, we will present the phases of developing this concept, from the moment it became necessary to its abstractive representation, by going through its natural phases: definition of the component elements and their relations, workflow, and management. The purpose of the present paper is to highlight the advantages we have when using the SAP NetWeaver integration and application platform in developing a multidisciplinary project that needs Multilanguage support, web interface, human resources, database & portal and offers schooling possibilities along with the communication with an external application. To prove these advantages, we are going to use the multidisciplinary project required to implement a new method of access control to resources, based on qualifications (QBAC pattern). So, the SAP platform is going to be used as server within a distributed system with point-by-point communication. © 2010 IEEE.
