A novel joint direction of departures (DODs) and direction of arrivals (DOAs) estimator for bistatic multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar via joint diagonalization direction matrices is proposed. The proposed estimator makes use of the MIMO array structure that enables to obtain an extended two-dimensional (2-D) array. Thereby, it may significantly increase the array degrees of freedom (DOFs) to estimate more targets than physical antenna elements. The computation complexity of the proposed method is also shown to be acceptable. Finally, asymptotic performance analysis and numerical experimental results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. Source

The Aspect Ratio Trapping technique has been extensively evaluated for improving the quality of III-V heteroepitaxial films grown on Si, due to the potential for terminating defects at the sidewalls of SiO2 patterned trenches that enclose the growth region. However, defects propagating along the trench direction cannot be effectively confined with this technique. We studied the effect of the trench bottom geometry on the density of defects of GaAs fins, grown by metal-organic chemical vapor deposition on 300 mm Si (001) wafers inside narrow (<90 nm wide) trenches. Plan view and cross sectional Scanning Electron Microscopy and Transmission Electron Microscopy, together with High Resolution X-Ray Diffraction, were used to evaluate the crystal quality of GaAs. The prevalent defects that reach the top surface of GaAs fins are {111} twin planes propagating along the trench direction. The lowest density of twin planes, ∼8 × 108cm-2, was achieved on "V" shaped bottom trenches, where GaAs nucleation occurs only on {111} Si planes, minimizing the interfacial energy and preventing the formation of antiphase boundaries. © 2015 AIP Publishing LLC. The apparatus also provides a distribution module configured to implement permissions defined in the permission module in relation to user devices by making available one or more items of content listed in the chart to at least one user device application.

An exhaust system includes first and second exhaust components with an inter-pipe that fluidly connects an outlet of the first exhaust component to an inlet of the second exhaust component. A passive valve is mounted within the inter-pipe. The second exhaust component defines an internal cavity that is at least partially packed with a high frequency absorption material and cooperates with the passive valve to effectively attenuate low and high frequency noise.

A digital media content management apparatus and method for securely storing a content file on a computer readable medium and playing the content file from the computer readable medium is disclosed. The content file comprises control information readable by a content player and payload information including content data. The content file is deconstructed into at least one control information portion and at least one payload information portion being undetectable to a content player of a user device. The control information portion and the payload information portion are separately stored, and at least one of the portions is associated with packing data, and the packing data associated with at least one of the portions comprises a reference to the location of the other portion.
