Effects of tempering temperature on microstructure and properties of 28CrNiMoMn high strength steel were studied. The results show that with the tempering temperature rising, the strength and hardness of the tested steel decreases and the plasticity increases. The yield strength increased slightly at low temperature and reaches its maximum at 250 ℃. Continue to increase of tempering temperature, the yield strength decreases and the steel displays obvious temper brittleness when tempered at 300-400 ℃. The microstructure of the tested steel changes from quenched martensite to tempered martensite, troostite and sorbite with the tempering temperature rising. Source
