A coating agent composition for battery electrode or separator, comprises a vinyl alcohol copolymer having a structural unit represented by the general formula (1), and an aqueous emulsion of a synthetic resin obtained by polymerizing a copolymerizable monomer having an acrylic monomer as a main component, or an aqueous emulsion of a styrene thermoplastic elastomer.


Disclosed is an EVOH resin composition comprising 2 types of EVOH resins having a different ethylene content and saponification degree from each other. The EVOH resin composition can reduce the occurrence of streaks with retaining gas-barrier property even when applying to vacuum-pressure forming. The use of the resin composition also make it possible to provide a method for producing a container such as cup having excellent gas-barrier property and appearance by vacuum-pressure forming and the like.

A pellet mixture comprising a first EVOH resin pellets (pellet 1) each having approximately circular or elliptical cross-section and having an ethylene unit content of 20 to 34 mol%, and a second EVOH resin pellets (pellet 2) each having ethylene unit content of 35 to 60 mol%, wherein the difference of ethylene unit content between the pellet 1 and the pellet 2 is from 10 to 30 mol%.

As a molding material comprising two or more EVOH resins differing in their ethylene unit content, disclosed is a pellet mixture of two or more types of EVOH resin pellets differing in their ethylene unit content. The pellet mixture has excellent feed property and film moldability with reduced surge in melt extrusion molding. Disclosed is a molding material comprising the pellet mixture and lubricant, in which more than 75% by weight of the lubricant is carried on their surface of low ethylene EVOH resin pellets having lowest ethylene unit content.

Acetoacetyl group-containing polyvinyl alcohol resin powder containing a C1 to C3 alcohol in an amount of 0.5 to 4 wt% is produced by allowing a powdery polyvinyl alcohol resin to react with diketene, washing the resulting acetoacetyl group-containing polyvinyl alcohol resin particles with the C1 to C3 alcohol to remove an unreacted portion of the diketene, and drying the acetoacetyl group-containing polyvinyl alcohol resin particles at a temperature of 40C to 120C at a pressure of not higher than 20 kPa after the washing. The acetoacetyl group-containing polyvinyl alcohol resin powder thus produced is highly soluble in water.
