To provide fundamental basis for independent research and development of die material, specially for the high strength steel, comparing with domestic H13 steel, the mechanical properties, thermal conductivity and the microstructures of hot stamping mold steel HTCS-130 were studied by OM, SEM and EDS analysis method. The thermal diffusivity and specific heat from 100°C to 700°C of HTCS-130 and H13 were measured by laser thermal conductivity instrument LFA457, and the thermal conductivity was calculated. The results indicate that the thermal stability of HTCS-130 steel is better than that of H13 steel, as HTCS-130 steel contains tungsten and molybdenum carbides after quenching and tempering; The thermal conductivity of HTCS-130 steel is significantly higher than that of H13 steel in the temperature range of 100~700°C. Such as in hot stamping service temperature (300~500°C) range, the thermal conductivity of HTCS-130 steel reaches up to 37 W/(m·K), which is nearly 47% higher than that of H13 steel.

Sand mould process was introduced for self-developed electro-driving transmission case with hybrid power. Al mould was man-made, and five sand moulds were assembled. Bottom-gating system with open structure was designed at the large plane. Through X-ray detection, absence of gas holes (shrinkage porosities) can be observed, meeting the quality requirement.
