To improve low pressure casting process for producing pressure-resistant aluminum alloy housing for high voltage switch, core-heart pouring with metallic mould sand core was adopted. Numerical simulation was conducted, and practical production obtained successful effects.

In order to avoid the influence of load disturbance and parameter change in the servo system of permanent-magnet linear synchronous motor for numerical control (NC) machine tool with high precision on the performances of the system, the H∞ robust control theory and loop transfer recovery (LTR) technique were combined, and an observer-based H∞/LTR synthetic control method was proposed. The target loop design was carried out for the system. Namely, under the assumption that the states of the system were completely available for detection, a robust H∞ control law was designed to satisfy the performance requirements of the system. The design for the recovery process of the system was performed, namely, the transfer function of target loop was recovered through introducing the designed observer into the system. The simulated results show that the designed controller has good performance, and exhibits strong inhibition effect for the model uncertainty and external disturbance.

When the high-voltage switchgears made in China are exported to some regions and countries where the rated frequency is 60 Hz, these products need to satisfy the requirements of type tests at rated frequency of 60 Hz. Although the relevant IEC standards specify the requirements and methods for type test of the switchgears performed at 50 Hz and 60 Hz and STL guides also further specify the requirements in specific tests, the authors sum up the type test items in detail by studying relevant standards in order to confirm them performed at 50 Hz and 60 Hz easily. The authors also analyse the feasibility for some test factors of high-voltage switchgears performed type tests at 50 Hz and 60 Hz. Results show that, except for temperature-rise tests, test duties T60, T100s(T100s(b)), T100a, short-line fault tests and capacitive current switching tests, other type tests can be performed at 50 Hz or 60 Hz. In GIS, the spacer is used for separating adjacent gas compartments, supporting conductor, and insulation. Development of a reliable 1 100 kV spacer is very important to ensure the safe service of a 1 100 kV GIS. In this paper, the characters of the 1 100 kV spacer developed by NHVS are introduced, and its dielectric performance and mechanical performance are computed with a finite element analysis software. The results show that the grounding shield ring can weaken the electric field strength in the triple zone. The casting process of the spacer is also introduced. This 1 100 kV spacer has passed type test in High Voltage Apparatus Quality Test & Research Center, where its lightning pulse withstand voltage reached 2 880 kV, and its minimum and maximum burst pressure reached 3.15 MPa and 4.0 MPa, respectively, verifying its high dielectric and mechanical performances. © 2016, Xi'an High Voltage Apparatus Research Institute Co., Ltd. Based on CAE, solidification and filling process of aluminum alloy high-voltage switch housing were simulated. Through the analysis of temperature field and casting defects in the aluminum alloy housing during the solidification process, process was optimized. The results show that the aluminum metal alloy housing can eliminate the shrinkage porosity (holes) through adding feeding channel in the sand core for partial thick-wall position to realize the sequential solidification.

The manufacturing level of 252 kV SF6 gas insulated metal enclosed switchgear (GIS) all over the world is reviewed in this paper, especially a GIS with rated voltage of 252 kV, rated current of 4000 A and rated breaking current of 50 kA is introduced. The structure of the GIS is of three-pole circuit within one enclosure except the circuit breaker and the current transformer. The design, configuration and type test are introduced.

In order to optimize power system in China, it is essential to develop strong and smart UHV and EHV power grid. The development of 550 kV 6300 A GIS can greatly improve transmission capability of 500 kV lines and decrease the number of power feeding hallway. In this paper, the technical parameters of the new type 550 kV 6300 A GIS developed by New Northeast Electric Group are described, and the unique characters of its conduction structure are introduced. The electric field distributions of its circuit breaker and disconnector are simulated, and the results verify their insulation performances. The structures and principles of this new type 550 kV 6300 A GIS have received patent protection in China.

Due to greenhouse effect of SF6, it is necessary to substitute SF6/N2 gas mixture for SF6 gas as insulation medium in electric power equipment. In this paper, advantages of SF6/N2 mixtures are discussed. The insulation performances of the SF6/N2 gas mixtures with different SF6 contents are analyzed according to gas discharge theory. The results show that: the critical field strength of the SF6/N2 gas mixture with 20% of SF6 in volume reaches 70% that of pure SF6 under same pressure, and the SF6/N2 gas mixture with 20% SF6 can achieve the same critical field strength with that of pure SF6 if the pressure of the mixture is 1.4 times of that of pure SF6. The 0.6 MPa 20%SF6/80%N2 gas mixture insulated 550 kV busbar developed by New Northeast Electric Group High Voltage Switchgear Co., Ltd. has passed the insulation tests in High Voltage Apparatus Quality Test & Research Center of Machinery Industry (Shenyang), and its lightning impulse withstand level reaches to 1842.5 kV.
