The present invention achieves a balanced discharging in a power storage system having a plurality of storage batteries connected in parallel. A power storage system comprises a plurality of storage batteries 100a-100f connected in parallel, a storage battery device 120 at least setting an output voltage value at discharge to each of the plurality of storage batteries 100a-100f. The storage battery device 120 includes a discharge control circuit 121 configured to assign at least one storage battery of the plurality of storage batteries for a master based on at least a battery residual capacity or a battery voltage and set the output voltage value so that the output voltage value differs between the master and the storage battery.

Also, rear-side connectors 37 are provided at the respective rear-side end portions of battery containing bodies 21, and are directly connected to chassis-side connectors 26 provided in chassis 1 when battery containing bodies 21 are inserted. In other words, the chassis-side connectors are arranged in parallel on the upper side or the lower side relative to a center in the height direction of the battery containing body housing section and rear-side connectors 37 of battery containing bodies 21 as housed are also arranged so as to correspond to such arrangement. If battery containing bodies 21 are arranged in parallel in each of the first and second housing sections, chassis-side connectors 26 in the first housing section (on the lower-tier side) are arranged in parallel on the upper side relative to the center in the height direction of the first housing section, and chassis-side connectors 26 in the second housing section (on the upper-tier side) are arranged in parallel on the lower side relative to the center in the height direction of the second housing section, and rear-side connectors 37 of the battery containing bodies as housed are also arranged so as to correspond to such arrangement. In such connector arrangement, (regardless of existence or non-existence and/or arrangement of front-side connectors 32), the vertical position of each battery containing body 21 at the time of insertion is determined, and thus, it is necessary to prevent wrong insertion of upside-down battery containing body 21.
