It has a great military significance to detect the magnetic target by magnetic gradiometer system. The positional accuracy of magnetic target will be affected by the installation error of magnetometer in the magnetic gradiometer system. The relationship between the localization results and the installation error is analysed in this paper. The results show that the localization error of magnetic target caused by the magnetometer's rotation can not be ignored. So the localization results of magnetic target should be compensated. The conclusion can be used for automatic correction of the seabed array of magnetometers. © 2016 IEEE.

The case when the source of information provides precise belief function/mass, within the generalized power space, has been studied by many people. However, in many decision situations, the precise belief structure is not always available. In this case, an interval-valued belief degree rather than a precise one may be provided. So, the probabilistic transformation of imprecise belief function/mass in the generalized power space including Dezert-Smarandache (DSm) model from scalar transformation to sub-unitary interval transformation and, more generally, to any set of sub-unitary interval transformation is provided. Different from the existing probabilistic transformation algorithms that redistribute an ignorance mass to the singletons involved in that ignorance proportionally with respect to the precise belief function or probability function of singleton, the new algorithm provides an optimization idea to transform any type of imprecise belief assignment which may be represented by the union of several sub-unitary (half-) open intervals, (half-) closed intervals and/or sets of points belonging to [0,1]. Numerical examples are provided to illustrate the detailed implementation process of the new probabilistic transformation approach as well as its validity and wide applicability.

The classical Dempster-Shafer evidence theory can not handle highly conflicting evidence efficiently. This drawback greatly limits the application of Dempster-Shafer evidence theory to real systems. The earlier researches mainly focused on improving the Dempster rules of combination or revising the data model. Although Liu brought out the question of effectively expressing the conflicting evidences, there still exists the problem of effectively distinguishing the causes among conflicting evidences. We first put forward a new confliction-representation model; and then analyze and summarize the causes of conflicting evidences through numerical examples. These examples show the efficiency of the proposed confliction representation model.

A method is proposed for interval multi-attribute decision-making, in which the attribute values are in the form of interval numbers. The central decision making matrix is defined. Then, the general importance measurement of experts is derived through the similarity of two standardized decision making matrix. By using it, the equal reliability degree for alternatives is obtained. Furthermore, the alternatives are ranked by using the equal reliability degree. Finally, an illustrative numerical example shows the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method.

There is doubt about Dempster's rule of combination because of counter-intuitive results when dealing with conflict information in intelligent reasoning. Therefore, many modified combination rules have been presented in the literature on multi-source information fusion and reasoning with uncertainty. However, the issue of identifying conflict among evidence has been ignored. A new parameter measuring conflict evidence called the conflict distance parameter is defined to determine whether there are conflicts in evidence based on the analysis of existing conflict parameters. At the same time, a decisive rule, which a reasonable conflict measure function should satisfy, is put forward. Finally, an analysis of two typical counter-intuitive situations is given, showing that the new parameter can not only satisfy the decisive rule, but can also attain the same effect as a two-dimensional measure when deciding whether to use the Dempster's rule of combination, and can exceed its effect when deciding whether to use Dezert-Smarandache theory. © 2011 Science China Press and Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.

The study on alternative combination rules in Dempster-Shafer theory (DST) when evidences are in conflict has emerged again recently as an interesting topic, especially in data/information fusion applications. The earlier researches have mainly focused on investigating the alternative which would be appropriate for the conflicting situation, under the assumption that a conflict is identified. However, the current research shows that not only the combination rule but also the classical conflict coefficient in DST are not correct to determine the conflict degree between two pieces of evidences. Most existing methods of measuring conflict do not consider the open world situation, whose frame of discernment is incomplete. To solve this problem, a new conflict representation model to determine the conflict degree between evidences is proposed in the generalized power space, which contains two parameters: the conflict distance and the conflict coefficient of inconsistent evidences. This paper argues that only when the conflict measure value in the new representation model is high, it is safe to say the evidences are in conflict. Experiments illustrate the efficiency of the proposed conflict representation model.

Traditional object tracking technology usually regards the target as a point source object. However, this approximation is no longer appropriate for tracking extended objects such as large targets and closely spaced group objects. Bayesian extended object tracking (EOT) using a random symmetrical positive definite (SPD) matrix is a very effective method to jointly estimate the kinematic state and physical extension of the target. The key issue in the application of this random matrix-based EOT approach is to model the physical extension and measurement noise accurately. Model parameter adaptive approaches for both extension dynamic and measurement noise are proposed in this study based on the properties of the SPD matrix to improve the performance of extension estimation. An interacting multi-model algorithm based on model parameter adaptive filter using random matrix is also presented. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed adaptive approaches and multi-model algorithm. The estimation performance of physical extension is better than the other algorithms, especially when the target maneuvers. The kinematic state estimation error is lower than the others as well.

Target identification is a major practical application of information fusion, in which Dezert-Smarandache theory (DSmT) is a useful method for dealing with problems with uncertainties and is efficient in combining conflicting evidences. We put forward three temporal-spatial information fusion approaches including the centralized fusion approach, the distributed approach without-feedback and the distributed approach with-feedback. Especially, when integrity constraints are introduced to the system, it is necessary to employ the conflict distance parameter to determine the combination order of evidences. This will in some extent overcome the deficiency in noncommitative property in the hybrid DSm rule of combination. Numerical examples are provided to show the validity in applications of the proposed approach.

For dealing with seriously conflicting evidence when the D-S evidence theory can not identify the actual conditions, revising mass fusion based methods consider improving focusing degree of combination results more, but they don't consider the reason for conflict between evidences and how to effectively reduce the conflict between evidences by revision according to the real reason for conflict. Therefore, the grey fuzzy multi-attribute decision-making(MADA) method is presented in the closed world. Firstly, a kind of similar degree between two interval grey numbers is established by combining the Euclidean distance with grey correlation degree to appraise the scheme. Then, the average similar degree is constructed. Furthermore, the alternatives are ranked by using the average similar degree. Illustrative numerical examples show the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method.

SAR image recognition is an important content of of aviation image interpretation work. In this paper, the characteristics of SAR images a practical significance of morphological filtering neural network model and its adaptive BP learning algorithm. As can be seen through the experimental results, the algorithm can not only adapt to the complex and diverse background environment, and has a displacement of the same continuous moving target detection capability, telescopic invariant and rotation invariant features. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.
