According to channel spread and fading caused by micro multi-path interference in high frequency (HF) channel, the time-varying channel coefficient of data directed equalization algorithm DDEA(VCC-DDEA)in narrow-band HF single serial tone channel communication is proposed. VCC-DDEA abandons the hypothesis that the channel coefficients are constant for DDEA in the frame and obtains conspicuous performance improvement compared to DDEA. The data rate is improved by lengthening user data in the frame, which can improve data rate upto 15% for the same bit error rate (BER) performance. Simulation validates the efficiency of VCC-DDEA and feasibility for improving data rate. Copyright © 2012 by Editorial Department of Chinese Journal of Radio Science.
