In bilayer graphene n-p systems the electron-hole pairs with spatially separated components at low temperatures transition into a superfluid state. A microscopic derivation of the dynamical equation for the wave function of the electron-hole pair condensate in a strong perpendicular magnetic field is given for low pair density. The temperature of the transition into a superfluid state is calculated in a wide interval of interlayer distances and magnetic fields on the basis of the elementary excitation spectrum. © 2010 American Institute of Physics. The tribological characteristics of nanocomposite Ti-Hf, Ti-Hf-N, and Ti-Hf-Si-N coatings deposited by the pulse HF-assisted vacuum arc method are studied. A substantial increase in the wear resistance and a decrease in the coefficient of friction of a protective Ti-Hf-Si-N coating compared to the steel substrate and protective Ti-Hf and (Ti, Hf)N coatings are found and explained. © 2013 Allerton Press, Inc. The γ-decay of the resonance-like structure observed in the 34S(pγ)35Cl reaction in the energy range Ep = 1.0-3.0 MeV of accelerated protons was investigated. The M1 resonance on the ground and excited states of 35Cl with E* = 1219 and 1763 keV was identified. The position of the center of gravity and total strength of the M1 resonance on ground state 35Cl nucleus are determined. The position and total strength of the M1 resonance on the ground state in 35Cl are explained taking into account pairing forces. © Allerton Press, Inc., 2011. Source

We describe the methods and the results of the experiments with passing of monochromatic beams of electrons with an energy of 2.5 МеV through specimens of aluminum and Al–Pb layered composites with different internal architectures. It is shown that, as compared with aluminum, the investigated composites are characterized by a higher absorptivity. This enables us to reduce the weight of the radiation-protective structure with preservation of the efficiency of protection on the level of aluminum or increase the efficiency of protection preserving the constant weight of the entire structure. © 2014, Springer Science+Business Media New York.
