The compulsory national standard, GB 2494-2014 Bonded abrasive products: Safety requirements issued recently, is carried out formally on January 1st, 2015.Compared with the GB 2494-2003 Bonded abrasive products: Safety rules replaced by GB 2494-2014, the content of the GB 2494-2014 changes greatly. In this paper, the differences of the technical content between the latest edition and the old edition are compared. The main technical content of the latest edition of GB 2494-2014 Bonded abrasive products: Safety requirements is introduced and unscrambled. Finally, some matters which need attention when implementing the latest edition for the enterprises are stated. The laser diffraction particle size analyzer are generally used to test the grain size distribution of diamond micro powders in the diamond micro powders industry. The comparison tests using same spherical reference materials among laser diffraction particle size analyzers with different types are carried out, in order to evaluate the closeness of agreement of measure status of different instruments. Chemical analysis is qualitative, quantitative and structural analysis on the complex mixture, which is characterized by combining a variety of methods of separation and analysis, namely "comprehensive analysis". At present, with the popularization of various kinds of large-scale advanced instruments, chemical analysis technology develops rapidly and is widely applied to various industries. There is high sensitivity of infrared spectrum for urotropine and no interference between the infrared absorption peaks of urotropine(1007 cm-1) and commercial phenolic resin powder(1509 cm-1). So, it is feasible to determine the content of urotropine in phenolic resin powder used in abrasive tools by infrared KBr tabletting method. The content of urotropine in phenolic resin powder is analyzed quantitatively by external standard method (ESTD) and internal standard method (ISTD) respectively and also compared with chemical titration method (perchloric acid titration). The results show that the relative standard deviation of the content determination of urotropine in phenolic resin powder by infrared spectrometry is less than 2%. The accuracy of this method meet the requirement of GB/T 24412-2009. This method is simple and reliable, which can be applied to measure the content of urotropine in phenolic resin powder for abrasives industry. © 2016, Diamond & Abrasives Engineering Editorial Office.
