Purpose: To develop the algorithm for choosing and substantiating of the parameters of the technological scheme of formation of overburden dumps in the form of a container for tailings placement. Methodology: The method of complex research includes. three-dimensional parametric modeling; the research results analysis by means of specialized software systems: and mathematical analysis. Findings: The technological schemes of creation of the overburden dumps in the form of containers for further accommodation of the the existing, current and projected industrial wastes consider the following: - Direct formation of the overburden dumps in the form of containers from the overburden currently produced during open cast mining. - Formation of an additional tier from the materials of the overburden dump on the top of it. It involves dump slope strengthening to ensure the necessary safety; platform firming; and creating the tier in the form of containers for industrial waste. - Recasting of a part of the existing overburden dump and forming of a container along one of the slopes. The algorithm for choosing the method of creation of the overburden dump in the form of container for industrial waste disposal has been suggested. The methodology for determining the parameters of the overburden dumps in the form of containers for industrial waste disposal has been developed. It takes into account the size and the number of pads formed; stability factor of the overburden dump slopes; overburden volume required for the pads formation; volume of the material for the impervious screen construction, width of road on the top of the overburden dump. Originality. The concept of overburden dumps utilization as containers for placement of tailings received the new approach of configuration them in the form of containers. The method of calculating of the parameters of the overburden dumps shaped in the form of containers for disposal of industrial wastes of various classes of risk taking into account the cost of the objects has been suggested. Practical value. We have obtained the additional way of the overburden dumps complex utilization improvement which is of importance for technical and economic evaluation of feasibility of use of the overburden dumps for emplacement of wastes of mining and processing enterprises and their further involving in production process.

This study describes the complex approach to study the formation process of the cumulative jet and the depth of its implementation into marble and granite in case of rock directional shattering by means of cumulative column charges. As a source of directional explosion we used a cumulative column charge in metal coating. In accordance with the values of measured depths after implementing the cumulative jet into rock plates we got numerical values of "initial" cavity scale depending on the focal distance for different charge types. We describe a model experiment aimed at the study of cumulative jet implementation mechanism and creation of stress concentrator (of the "initial" cavity). There is an X-ray picture here to show the process of implementing cumulative jet into a rock plate and there are results of lab experiments to study the depth of jet implementation at different focal distances. We show the scheme of interaction of separate cumulative jet fragments with the rock. It was revealed how the mass velocities in reflected shock wave for a jet rear side depend on the jet front side velocity for marble and granite. The connection of the implementation depth of the cumulative jet with the distance to the mass became clear. © Medwell Journals, 2016.

Erection of Primary Tailing Dike is essential part of its construction. The roles of the dike are to protect the lands from flooding of industrial waste and to protect from ecological disaster. Construction methods and their designs play an important role in the stability and prevention of hazardous substances penetrating into ground waters, and include the large number of technical and natural factors. While constructing tailing dike it is necessary to meet regulatory filtration coefficient of soil that provide high-quality mating of dike body with the shore. To meet all the requirements of the dike, the required volume and weight should be maintained. The methods of construction have been considered and new constructions of primary tailings dikes have been offered in the paper. © 2015 IJED.

The boundary value problem of torsion of solid cylinder is analyzed for a class of hyperelastic materials that exhibit the power law type dependence of the strain energy density on the magnitude of the deformation gradient. The Saint Venant hypotheses are generalized by including the non-homogeneous longitudinal and radial deformations. A non-linear variational problem with respect to the function of the radial/surface deformation, the function of the longitudinal deformation, the normalized torque and the normalized axial force is formulated. The asymptotic analytical solutions are obtained for the hard device torsion and for large angles of twist. They illustrate the power law type dependencies of the axial force and the reaction torque on the angle of twist with the exponents p and p - 1, respectively. For Treloar (neo Hookean) materials with p = 2 the classical results can be obtained. The finite element analysis of the hard device torsion is performed by Matlab. The results indicate that for a homogeneous class of materials and large angles of twist non-homogeneous radial/surface deformation can be observed.
