The conductivity detector is characterized by the simple construction of micro-electrodes and circuits, which have significant advantages in the process of miniaturization and integration for analytical systems. Therefore, much more attention has been paid on the research of the integrated conductivity detector on the electrophoresis microchip. This review presented the developments of conductivity detection for CE-chip in the past several years. Specific issues related to the basic theory of conductivity detection on CE-chip are discussed, such as the detection principles, system composition and influence factors. MEMS technology applied to fabricate the integrated conductivity electrodes on the microchip is also addressed. Typical conductivity detectors integrated on CE-chips are described as the crucial part in this review.
