Lately, the authorities and the public have become ever more sensitive both to environmental and climate protection issues. The exponentially increase of the demand of the plastic objects has led to an accumulation of great quantities of such waste, which has caused great anxiety to producers, consumers and especially of those responsible with environmental protection. For that reason, a change of biodegradable polymer orientation took place, which has led to an increase in interest for biodegradability. Compared to alternative materials, plastics offer a series of advantages: they are lightweight, durable and relatively indestructible. In this paper experimental results obtained pointed out that the composting process (during two months) is slow, but the degradation of the tested plastic bags has occurred. Therefore, for protecting the environment must be taken actions by: education, promotion of environmental programs, laws and policies more effective. Also, this paper aims to promote the organisations interest for better implementation of the requirement '4.4.2. Competence, training and awareness' of environmental management systems - ISO 14001. The standard requires organisations to identify training needs of employees and satisfying those needs. In this way, the working practices within the organisations will be improved in a short time.
