The filling and solidification process for the magnesium alloy motorcycle crankcase right cover were carried out with the help of the orthogonal experiment and AnyCasting 2.4 software according to magnesium alloy solidification characteristics. The effects of slow injection speed, rapid injection speed, pouring temperature and mold temperature on the filling characteristics, the solidification process and shrinkage porosity defects were investigated. The results show that with the increase of the slow injection speed, filling time of liquid magnesium alloy is shortened and maximum solidification rate is increased, resulting in the deterioration of steady of the filling process. In addition, with increasing in mould temperature, the solidification time is increased. However, the influence level of the above four factors on die casting defects are similar. The defects exist in the thick wall near the thin-walled shell.
