The effects of β-aminobutyric acid (BABA) on blue mould caused by Penicillium expansum in apple fruit stored at 25 °C were investigated. BABA provided an effective control, and strongly inhibited spore germination, germ and tube elongation of P. expansum in vitro. Using propidium iodide (PI) staining combined with fluorescent microscopy, it was found that the plasma membrane of BABA-treated P. expansum spores was damaged, and the leakage of protein and sugar was significantly higher in BABA-treated mycelia than in the control. BABA treatment induced a significant increase in the activities of chitinase, β-1,3-glucanase, and peroxidase in apple fruit. These findings suggest that the effects of BABA on blue mould in apple fruit may be associated with the direct fungitoxic property against the pathogens, and the elicitation of defense-related enzymes in fruit. © 2011 Elsevier B.V.

With the rapid development of modern science and technology, the application of the Internet and of technology in Intelligent Agriculture has become more and more widespread. In this paper, a kind of aquaculture remote monitoring system based on the Internet Android platform is introduced. Using the system with many sensor nodes, information (such as pH value, temperature, water level, dissolved oxygen and other environmental parameters) can be collected remotely by many kinds of sensors (such as a pH sensor, temperature sensor, water level sensor, and dissolved oxygen sensor), and then the analog data collected can be transformed to be digital data. The digital data can be sent to an Android mobile system by socket communication. In the Android mobile control interface the data received from pound can be exported into a SQLite database, and the data in the SQLite database can be exported into a SD card and stored in the format of TXT. The filename stored is formed with the information from the time when the TXT file is saved (such as year-month-data-hour-minute-second) in order to avoid the problem of having the file overwritten by a file with the same name file. Therefore, the user needs not designate the name of the saving TXT file. To the Android application, many control nodes can be controlled remotely. The system adopts CC2430 as the underlying management chip. Temperature measurement accuracy of the system can reach 0.5℃. In addition, pH measurement accuracy of the system can reach 0.3. A good control algorithm can achieve good control precision. In our system, in order to obtain more control precision, an intelligent fuzzy PID control algorithm is applied in the remote MCU control system. Dissolved oxygen is a very important parameter in aquiculture. In the system dissolved oxygen control precision can be controlled within ±0.3 mg/L. Moreover, the SOKCET communication is designed in an independent thread to the system. Thus, the reaction of the control system is very sensitive. The function of the system is not limited by time, regional, and climate conditions. The interface of the application is designed in the Android Mobile phone, so the user can handle the application flexibly and conveniently, and the user can browse data from the mobile phone, send remote control commands, and control the bottom water, pump water supply pump, and aerator in any location with an Internet connection. The IP address is exported into a SQLite database, so the IP data can be obtained automatically from the database by the system after the application is started, and it does not need input from the user repeatedly. Many mobile phone clients of the system can share a single server. Thus, the system has a very high price-performance ratio. Integrated management that combines different methods is being actively pursued in the control of postharvest disease. In this study, the biocontrol yeast Cryptococcus laurentii and ultraviolet-C (UV-C) treatment were evaluated for controlling infection following artificial inoculation with Botrytis cinerea or Alternaria alternata, and natural infection in tomato fruit. Applied separately, C. laurentii and UV-C (4 kJ m-2) effectively inhibited decay caused by B. cinerea or A. alternata, and natural infection. The combination of C. laurentii and UV-C showed better control efficiency. UV-C treatment did not affect yeast growth in fruit wounds, while the treatment induced the transcript expression of β-1,3-glucanase, phenylalanine ammonia-lyase, peroxidase and superoxide dismutase based on real-time PCR analysis, as well as increased the activity of these enzymes in tomato fruit. Results indicate that the mechanism by which UV-C enhanced the biocontrol efficacy of C. laurentii may be associated with the elicitation of defense response in tomato fruit. © 2012 International Organization for Biological Control (IOBC).

At present, K-Means algorithm as a method of clustering based on partition has more applications. By analyzing the problem of K-Means, we propose a kind of optimized algorithm to select initial clustering points, which utilize an adjacent similar degree between points to get similarity density, then by means of max density points selecting our method heuristically generate clustering initial centers to get more reasonable clustering results. This method compares to traditional methods lie in it will get suitable initial clustering centers and also has more stable clustering result. Finally, through comparative experiments we prove the effectiveness and feasibility of this algorithm. © 2013 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.

Recently, Top-k queries in distributed applications have attracted much interest in many different areas such as network and monitoring systems, information retrieval, sensor networks. Some efficient algorithms, such as TA, BPA, are regarded as centralized process in distributed applications. However, to some ad hoc ranged Top-K queries have less flexibility towards updating and low efficiency in ranged searching with much cost of network communication. So we propose an efficient strategy for ranged Top-k query over web services and our performance evaluation shows that such strategy has less network communication and queries timely updating ranged top k result efficiently. © 2011 IEEE.

In order to solve the inconvenience of line arrangement under bad environment and the maintenance difficulty, a design method of a wireless temperature monitoring system based on ZIGBEE is given. The system uses RemoDAQ-8000 as temperature sensor and control platform, ZIGBEE wireless communication for wireless communication network. Through five groups based on ZIGBEE. The temperature control experiment, obtained the first-hand information, so as to realize the wireless monitoring; at the same time, the system can be in the local area network, using C/S and B/S two ways to control and query. Experiments show that using wire communication, ZIGBEE wireless communication instead of the traditional, can have an important effect in the field of process control. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Agricultural products temperature-controlled logistics features with multi-discipline, trans-region, multi-loops and multi-subjects. At present, scientific research and subject construction of this filed fall behind industrial development, basic study of logistics theories need to be strengthened urgently to build scientific and suitable theoretical system frame for guiding engineering technical practice. Based on considering current technical requirements of agricultural products temperature-controlled logistics and requirements of social development, the paper proposed agricultural products temperature-controlled logistics technology integration theoretical system by analyzing multiple restriction factors of agricultural products logistics field. Agricultural products temperature-controlled logistics expert decision making system (business intelligence system) based on the database constructed by the theoretical system can provide the government with scientific basis for making cold-chain logistics policy, creating and governing a standard and fair competitive environment. The system can also provide manufacturing enterprises with decision making data for conversion between logistics cost and sales price, and provide consumers with evidence for price and quality selection.

The Vc content of fresh-cut broccoli was determined during storage while the fresh-cut broccolis with hypobaric treatment for 36 h were placed at 273 K, 278 K, 283 K, 288 K and 293 K, respectively. The trend of Vc was fitted using zero order reaction and first order reaction based on chemical reaction kinetics theory to determine the variation rate of Vc (k). Two shelf-life prediction models were established combined with Arrhenius equation and the accuracy of models was evaluated combined with sensory evaluation. The results indicate that the content of Vc decreased with increasing storage time and temperature, and the variation rate of Vc (k) increased with increasing temperature. Accuracy evaluation between predicted and observed shelf-life showed that the predictive accuracy of shelf-life prediction model SL1 based on first order reaction (preexponential factor: k0=-3.19×1020, activation energy: Ea=118762.49, R2=0.9986) was the highest with the average relative error being of 7.94%. The shelf-life of fresh-cut broccoli with hypobaric treatment can be predicted at the storage temperature from 273 K to 293 K.

Rice has developed the first staple food in China. Edible quality and safety of rice are requested gradually with the developing living standard, the quality of which is also getting more and more attention during storage and circulation process. As a result, it is particularly important for rice quality to be inspected and quality change to be forecasted during storage, processing and market circulation and so on. The research process for quality of rice using nondestructive testing technology (near infrared spectroscopy, electronic nose and computer vision), chromatographic analysis technology, scanning electron microscopy technology, textural properties analysis technology etc has been discussed in this paper. Some problems of these methods were proposed, and application trends on quality analysis for rice were prospected. Among them, the role of nondestructive testing technology in rice quality analysis becomes more and more prominent; the development of stable performance, high precision, convenient operation, miniaturization of rice analysis detection system, at the same time, establishing standardized measurement method and analysis method become the development tendency in the future. As the technology research of grain logistics process about quality control tracking, quality changes for rice of logistics link will also be eye-catching.
