Physical properties of various starch based bio-latexes prepared with chemical modified method, mechanical grinding method and extrusion methods, and their effects on coating color and coated paper performance were analyzed in this article. The results indicated that the commercial extruded bio-latex was evenly size distributed spheres with median diameter of 0.184 μm, while the mechanical ground bio-latex had median diameter of 0.161 μm with much wider particle size distribution, which had a relatively high solubility and swellability. Chemical modified bio-latex caused lower coatings viscosity and poor water retention capacity, whereas mechanical ground bio-latex led to higher coatings viscosity and the best water retention ability. Coating colors containing different bio-latexes tended to show similar viscosity as shear rate exceeded 100 s-1. Coated paper porosity decreased as a result of the addition of bio-latex, whereas brightness was enhanced significantly. Both the chemical modified bio-latex and the extruded one could lead to preferable paper properties, while self-prepared mechanical ground bio-latex had a little negative impact on the property of the coated paper. © 2017, China National Pulp and Paper Research Institute(CNPPRI). The brief market situation of each application was discussed. Then the peeling properties, grease resistance, heat resistance, mold ability, food safety of baking paper were analyzed in detail. The migration of latex particles to the coating surface during consolidation was investigated, and a new mechanism based on Einstein classical particle diffusion theory and surface trapping effect was proposed to clarify the controversy in coating and related fields. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) technique was used to determine the elemental composition and content at the surface of coating comprised mainly of micron sized kaolin clay and sub-micron sized styrene butadiene latex, and regression equation was established between surface atomic concentration and latex amount in the formulation. By converting the surface XPS results of coatings dried under various conditions to latex content using the above equation, the effect of various factors on the degree of latex particles migration was analyzed quantitatively for the first time. The results showed that latex migration to coating surface can be promoted by increasing drying temperature and drying time, and decreasing the initial solid content of coating colors, while impeded by raising its particle size, the substrate absorption, initial solids content and viscosity of coating colors, and therefore the new mechanism was verified.

The various ONP pulp and their deinked pulp after flotation and washing were used as materials to prepare the sheets by laboratory sheet former (whether cover a cloth or not) and Buchner funnel respectively. And the optical properties of the sheets were analyzed, and the effects of sample sheet preparing methods on optical property determination were evaluated. The results showed that the sheet prepared in Buchner funnel with better retention of fillers, inks and other fine materials in the filter paper, it caused great difference of optical property comparing with other sample sheet preparing methods. While there were a little fillers, inks and fine materials in deinked pulp, the effect of sample sheet preparing methods on brightness and ERIC (Effective Residual Ink Concentration) determinate was not obvious. On the contrary, the pulp contained more fine materials and inks, there were obvious differences in brightness and ERIC of the sheets prepared by different methods, especially between the sheets prepared by laboratory sheet former and Buchner funnel. © 2015, China National Pulp and Paper Research Institute (CNPPRI). The main factors influencing the dispersion of nano-CaCO3 in starch were studied and optimized. The study found that the dispersion efficiency was influenced by the dispersion method, viscosity of system and the distance between nano-particles. The viscosity of starch, the ratio of starch to nano-particles and the system's solid content influenced the viscosity of the system and the distance between nano-particles. The optimal dispersion method for nano-CaCO3 in starch was that, nano-CaCO3 and starch solution were mixed efficiently before gelatinization. When the mass ratio of nano-CaCO3 and starch was 1:10 and the solid content was 5%, the particle size of nano-CaCO3 in starch was the smallest. ©, 2014, China Technical Association of Paper Industry. This research collects DIP, APMP and BKP as three typical materials to make "fines" to analyze the variation of chemical components morphological characteristics and micro-characteristics of three kinds of fines during 180 days natural cultivation. The conclusion indicated that the degradation rate of cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin of three kinds of fines were increased along with the cultivation time. The physicochemical properties of the linters pulping black liquor solid and reed pulping black liquor solid were analyzed. Volume expansion, calorific values and pyrolysis characteristics of the solid samples containing different ratios of the two solids were studied, and activation energy and frequency factor of the samples in combustion process were further calculated using coats-Redfern method. The results showed that: there were some difference between the components of the two solids. The combustion of the mixed solid was a complex process, and it could be divided into four stages: (1) drying, (2) devolatilization or pyrolysis, (3) char burning, and (4) smelt coalescence. With the increase of reed pulping black liquor ratio in the mixed solid, solid-s activation energies would decrease, frequency factor and volume expansion would increase, solid combustion performance was significantly improved. © 2015, China Technical Association of Paper Industry. This paper introduced the printing methods of newspaper, composition of the different printing inks and their deinkability. With the increasing of the proportion of flexographic(water-based inks) printed paper, the negative effects on waste newspaper deinking increased, this paper focused on the deinking chemicals, deinking process, treatment of deinking effluent and evaluation methodology of deinking efficiency of old newspaper printed with water-based inks. Moreover, some suggestions to old newspaper deinking process were put forward.
