Based on equivalent energy function (EEF) a novel probabilistic production simulation model, which considers constraints of critical tie line power flows, is proposed. Firstly, the basic principle of EEF is presented concisely, and the insufficiency of conventional models, in which constrains of tie line power flows are not taken into account, is analyzed. Combining with practical operation situation of power grid and according to the conditions that there are electricity quantity transaction or not and the composition of tie lines, the types of tie lines are classified and corresponding mathematical models are constructed to describe them. On this basis, different methods to cope with various types of tie lines in EEF are given and corresponding calculation flow for probabilistic production simulation is designed. Finally, the effectiveness and practicality of the proposed model are verified by IEEE RTS system, and simulation results show that the existence of critical tie line power flows evidently affects the reliability of power grid operation and generated energy of each unit, thus critical tie line power flows should be considered in detain during probabilistic production simulation.

Oriented at the goals of integrated dispatching and control and referring to the developing experience of the dispatchers and operators simulator of North China power grid, a design idea and implementing methods are described. The system has two prominent characteristics, one is the procedure-style and the other is integration of operation. Some new features are elaborated round the two characteristics, including simulation platform, secondary signals simulation, load case, generation control simulation. Meanwhile, the mechanism of data exchange with other simulators and typical training procedure are also dealt with. © 2013 State Grid Electric Power Research Institute Press.
