In allusion to issues caused by the converter of doubly-fed wind generator when connected to the power grid, such as the voltage fluctuation, impulse current and harmonic components injection, we firstly analyze construction methods of testing platform for the converter of doubly-fed wind generator. Then we consider the 1. 5 MW doubly-fed wind turbine converter as a prototype to research its grid-connected characteristics. Some items are tested and evaluated, including cut-in current, loading test, total harmonic distortion (THD), power factor regulating ability, etc, and the influence degree of these factors on the grid is reviewed. The test result shows that the converter prototype meets the grid-connected requirements, and the cutting-in current of the converter prototype is too small to impact the grid. Source
