The complex dielectric function of PbS thin films is studied by spectroscopic ellipsometry in the spectral range from 0.74 to 6.45 eV at a temperature of 293 K. The critical energies are determined to be E1 = 3.53 eV and E2 = 4.57 eV. For both energy regions, the best fit is attained at the critical point 2D (m = 0). In addition, the Raman spectra and the optical-absorption spectra of PbS thin films are studied. From the dependence of the quantity (αhν)2 on the photon energy hν, the band gap is established at Eg = 0.37 eV. © 2016, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

We consider an optimal control problem in which the system's state is described by a system of difference equations with nonlocal (two-point) conditions; this problem includes, as particular cases, the initial value problem (Cauchy problem) and different types of boundary value problems. It is assumed that the admissible controls take values from an open set. The first and second functional variations are calculated; these variations are used to express first and second order necessary optimality conditions in the classical sense for discrete optimal control problems. © 2011 Allerton Press, Inc.

We carried out oxypropylation of pentaerythritol with propylene oxide at different molar ratios of reagents under the action of alkali (NaOH) catalyst. The most important physical and chemical characteristics of the obtained esters were determined and their properties as surfactants were studied. Based on these data we calculated colloid-chemical and thermodynamic parameters of micellization and adsorption. © 2011 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.
