An auxiliary quantity, homogeneous with the measured one, was proposed to use in testing of the object throw the measurement channel. The result of processing this quantity in the measurement channel was used for the additive and multiplicative adjustments of settings limits of the positive decision range to reduce the impact of imperfect processing characteristics on the measurement control. The valuable effectiveness of the correction for various relations of the processing error components and the effect of relations of the auxiliary quantity components were shown. The effect of errors of forming auxiliary quantity was also estd.

Many research works are dedicated to increased banknote paper resistance to wear-and-tear (1,2). Banknotes have to be characterized by high level of protection and they have to maintain certain optical, strength and chemical properties during their circulation. These properties significantly depend on the characteristics of a printed substrate. Banknote paper has to ensure adequate reproduction stability of printing image and - first of all - stability of banknote production. As regards stability, very high degree of paper sizing is required to reduce substrate porosity, another important requirement is adequate level of ink penetration into paper structure guaranteeing good print adherence to the substrate. For this reason, sizing degree and method are selected taking into consideration two opposite factors - ink adherence and contamination resistance (3). The aim of this work was to test banknote paper wear-and-tear and determine the most resistant substrate.
