Thermal dilatometric curves of S500Q hydroelectric steel were measured by using DIL805L thermal dilatometer, combined with microstructure observation and hardness test, the curves of continuous cooling transformation was determined for S500Q hydroelectric steel. The results show that with the cooling rate of 0.5 ℃/s, the microstructure of the steel is composed of ferrite, pearlite and granular bainite, when the cooling rate is in the range of 0.5-5 ℃/s, the microstructure consists of granular bainite and lath bainite, when the cooling rate is above 20 ℃/s, the microstructure is full martensite. ©, 2015, Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society of Heat Treatment. Manufacturing process and test design for Q460GJE-Z35 of high strength steel with thickness in 80 mm, 110 mm and 120 mm were investigated through the composition design, rolling and heat treatment process design by using grain refinement, solid solution strengthening, precipitation strengthening method. The results show that molded Q460GJE-Z35 steel plate, which was produced through niobium, vanadium, titanium, nickel composite micro alloying, controlled rolling-controlled cooling and normalizing the fast cooling (NAC) heat treatment, has such properties as grain tiny, organization, with uniform strength and toughness good matching and higher internal quality. Aiming to satisfy the demand of consumers, shorten the production cycle and improve the competitiveness in the market, multiple technologies including mould ingot casting, rolling in 3800 mm rolling mill, heap cooling and annealing of the steel plate, quenching and tempering of the samples, rolling replacing forging were adopted in Nanyang Hanye Special Steel Co., Ltd.. Super thick alloy 42CrMo structural steel was successfully produced by these measurements. The performance indexes of the steel plates can well satisfy the requirements of the relevant national standard. The steel plates have excellent welding performance and match the grade I in JB/T4730.3-2005 verified by ultrasonic flaw detection. Source

Billet with cross section of 350 mm×2320 mm was rolled to Q345E-Z35 with cross section of 100 mm× 2360 mm. Different finishing rolling temperatures and re-reddening temperatures were tested with deformation higher than critical that of dynamic recrystallization and l/h≥0. 53 during rough rolling. The results show that when finishing temperature of final finishing stage is about 780 °C and re-reddening temperature is about 610°C, the produced steel plate has excellent mechanical properties and lamellar tearing resistance.
