Flood is common in China and causes extensive loss of property and human lives. Elderly is a vulnerable population prone to the detrimental impacts of floods. This survey aims to investigate the health status and the HRQoL of the elderly in Bazhong city after a major flood in 2011.A total of 1183 elderly (aged>60) were surveyed through random sampling from eight villages in Bazhong city. Two-week healthcare-seeking rate and chronic diseases prevalence were recorded anonymously. Health-related quality of life (HRQoL) was measured by the Medical Outcomes Study Short Form-36 (MOS SF-36). Multivariate regression analysis was conducted to determine the associated factors of poor HRQoL.The two-week healthcare-seeking rate among post-flood Bazhong elderly was significantly higher than the references rate among rural elderly in Sichuan province (59.3% versus 55.7%, 2=5.134, p=0.013), but Bazhong elderly demonstrated a significantly lower prevalence of chronic disease (33.2% versus 44.4%, 2=48.847, p<0.001). All dimension scores among Bazhong elderly were significantly lower than the references scores in rural Sichuan elderly. The determinants of poor physical health included older age, singlehood, poor sleep patterns, and chronic diseases and so on.A marked decline in health status among elderly in Bazhong after the 2011 flood. Post-flood management targeting elderly need to be sensitive to their age, gender, married status and status of chronic diseases.

A pilot-scale modified SBR process was investigated to treat urban wastewater. The average NH + 4-N efficiency removal was 98 %. The average TN removal efficiency was 52 %. The average effluent NH + 4-N was 0.34 mg/L. The average effluent TN was 12 mg/L. The average effluent phosphorus was 0.75 mg/L. The average effluent COD was 35 mg/L. The result showed that the ratio of influent NH + 4-N /TN was equal approximately to TN removal efficiency. The TN removal ratio was decided by the influent NH + 4-N. The long anaerobic time was benefit to the nitrogen removal. The optimal anaerobic time should be set at 1 hour. © (2012) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Legionella inactivation using ozone was studied in wastewater using kinetic analysis and modeling. The experimental results indicate that the relationship between the ozone concentration, germ concentration, and chemical oxygen demand (COD) can be used to predict variations in germ and COD concentrations. The ozone reaction with COD and inactivation of Legionella occurred simultaneously, but the reaction with COD likely occurred at a higher rate than the inactivation, as COD is more easily oxidized by ozone than Legionella. Higher initial COD concentrations resulted in a lower inactivation rate and higher lnN/N

Systematic OHSM has been a leitmotif of current regulation and practice in the world. It has led both positive and negative OHS consequences. The studies in relation to OHS in the international shipping industry are comparatively rare following the implementation of the ISM Code. Thus there is an urgent need for the examination of the case in this industry. This study is conducted in the Chinese shipping industry with special focus on a shipmaster's decision-making power in relation to OHSM and its impact on shipboard OHSM practice. The study reveals a significant imbalance of power relation between the management and crew. As a consequence of such imbalance, the limited crew participation was explored, and the dominant management concerns of efficiency over safety bring about potential indirect effects on crew's health, safety and well-being. They all suggest that the OHSM systems were of limited help in safeguarding crew's OHS and shipboard OHSM practice.

Based on the structure and working principle of our giant magnetostrictive actuator (GMA), the properties of the driving magnetic field were researched. A 3-D nonlinear magnetic field model of the GMA was established with the finite element analysis method, and the magnetic field distribution of the GMA was obtained with the software ANSYS. Then the 3-D model helped us to find the effects about the distribution of magnetic field of the GMA from the structure. The 3-D magnetic field finite element analysis model can give us a new tool of GMA design and analysis. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

The effects of pulse magnetic field pretreatment on the structure and the crystallization process of amorphous alloy (Fe74 Ga2P9.65B4.6Si3C6.75)98 Nb2 were investigated by XRD and DSC. Furthermore, the magnetic properties were also analyzed by VSM. The results show that after pulse magnetic field pretreatment, there exists some atomic clusters and small amount of crystallized phases segregation in samples. When the samples are crystallized, precipitates are increased with decrease of the average grain size, and the crystallization area is increased with increasing in the processing time. The VSM test results indicate that the coercivity and remanence ratio of samples are reduced significantly after pulse magnetic field pretreatment, indicating more excellent integrated magnetic properties. ©, 2015, Journal Office of Special Casting and Nonferrous Alloys. A parametric model of a kind of low-voltage circuit breaker was set up by virtual prototyping technology software ADAMS, and the simulation of the low-voltage circuit breaker system's dynamic characteristics was successfully run to confirm the parametric model. Because it was easy for contact heads to produce arc during closing, the power spring system was designed and researched in order to obtain the parametric sensitivities. Based on the difference of parametric sensitivities, the rotational angular velocity of the moving contact heads was regarded as the objective function, and the optimization design of circuit breaker power system was completed. Optimized system ensured reliable contact and shortened the arc time of the static and dynamic contact heads during closing, avoiding phenomenon as rebound repeatedly beating of the contact heads, continued arcing and temperature sharp rising, etc. The analysis had guide significance for improving the safe reliability and operating life of the low-voltage circuit breaker, and provided a good platform for the further produce development and optimization design. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

The main purpose of this paper is to generalize the concept of (L,M)-fuzzy σ-algebras defined by Shi [F.G. Shi, (L,M)-fuzzy σ-algebras, International Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences. doi:10.1155/2010/356581] from L-fuzzy sets to intuitionistic fuzzy sets; the notions of L-intuitionistic fuzzy σ-algebras and L-intuitionistic fuzzy measurable functions are introduced; the relationships among L-intuitionistic fuzzy σ-algebras, (I,I)-fuzzy σ-algebras and I-fuzzifying σ-algebras are studied. Then we give the definition of the product of L-intuitionistic fuzzy σ-algebras; some of their elementary properties are discussed. By use of the concept of I-fuzzifying σ-algebras, the notion of generated L-intuitionistic fuzzy σ-algebras is proposed. Finally, the properties of the generated functor Iζ from the category of I-fuzzifying σ-algebras and I-fuzzifying measurable functions to the category of L-intuitionistic fuzzy σ-algebras and L-intuitionistic fuzzy measurable functions are proved. © 2012 Elsevier Ltd. In this paper injection process for industry production is just a grey system which have problems of complex representation and discrete data. Orthogonal experiments have been designed to obtain the value of shrinkage and warp. The lower value of the two objects is better. After data obtained in experiments are dealt with by grey theory, relational degree had been calculated. With variance analysis the optimal level of the factors influencing the value of the two objects have been find out, then a optimal group of the process parameters has been obtained. Through simulation in computer, the warp is less than 0.5 mm, the shrinkage is less than 0.5%. The requirements of the product have been satisfied. In this method the factors had been considered before mould is tested comprehensively. Time and cost of product development have been decreased greatly.
