Aerobics have gained wide development in recent years as an important part of current sports events. In the process of aerobics exercise, athletes are prone to ankle joint injury. In order to analyze the causes of ankle joint injury in aerobics exercise and estimate the treatment effect of applying RICE treatment, the author selected 2200 patients with ankle joint injury after aerobics from August 2014 to December 2015. Causes of ankle joint injury of aerobics athletes were analyzed, and the effect of applying RICE treatment was observed. Final study results show that ankle joint injury among aerobics athletes is mainly due to inattention, poor psychological attitude, landing instability, training with injury, etc. Application of RICE for patients can provide a significant treatment effect and promote recovery. Having certain clinical value, it is worth being popularized and applied in future clinical treatment.

With rank sum ration, this study analyzes test results of Jiangsu Province U11-12 male basketball athletes' skill abilities of sports. Through confirming main indexes and quantitatively revealing skill abilities and their influences on training, this study sets up evaluation model and standard. The study presents a method of scoring test indexes, which has been made to check out reliability of the sample statistical data that obtained from athlete's comprehensive tests. And calculation result verifies the method's reliability. In addition, the selected test indexes of special skill abilities could fully reflect and evaluate necessary sports abilities for basketball athletes, such as bounce, speed, endurance, flexibility, and agility. Finally, the method was transfer into an algorithm and deployed to software for automatically assessment to U11-12 Male Basketball Athletes. Copyright © 2017 American Scientific Publishers.

To observe the effect of clinical acupuncture practice on practitioners finger fine touch, so as to analyze the perceptive procedure of the arrival of qi and to explore its key factors. Fifteen healthy acupuncturists and 15 healthy non-acupuncturists volunteers were recruited in the present study. All the participants were ordered to take a sitting position in a quiet room and to have their eyes covered with two eyeshades first. Then, they were asked to receive two general sensory-perceptual acuity tests: the von Frey hair tests for measuring their cutaneous sensation threshold and two-point discrimination tests of the thumb, index and middle fingers of both hands. In acupuncturists, the average cutaneous sensation thresholds of the thumb and index finger of the handedness and the average two-point discrimination thresholds of the thumb, index finger and the middle finger of the handedness were lower than those of the handedness in non-acupuncturists in spite of no significant differences (P > 0.05). In addition, in acupuncturists, the average cutaneous sensation thresholds of the thumb and index finger and the average two-point discrimination thresholds of the thumb, index finger and the middle finger of the handedness were also slightly lower than those of their non-handedness. While in the non-acupuncturists, both the average cutaneous sensation thresholds and the average two-point discrimination thresholds of the thumb, index finger and the middle finger of the handedness and non-handedness were comparable. The acupuncturists' finger fine touch of the handedness is relatively more sensitive than that of non-acupuncturists, suggesting an increase of the sensitivity of fingers in perceiving "Deqi" through long-term acupuncture clinical practice.

Acupuncture manipulation skills are the core of acupuncture therapy. Traditional acupuncture skills evaluation is based on experts' subjective assessment which is deficient in reliability and validity. Certain progresses on the quantitative research on acupuncture skills have been made in China, while there is still a long way to go before the formation of the consummate standardization evaluation system on acupuncture skills. Actually, quantitative appraisal on surgical skills has been developed for a long time in Europe and North America. Since acupuncture could be considered as a kind of skills of minimally invasive surgery because small wounds would be generated by needles, the theories and methods in surgical quantitative appraisal could be utilized. For instance, scales could be designed to evaluate the operation modes in acupuncture skills and precise instruments could be used in the measurement of acupuncture skills. Then standard databases on common acupuncture manipulations would be built. Moreover, in terms of the characteristics of acupuncture skills, high-fidelity simulators should be designed or standardized patients should be trained for the assessment of "Deqi" (arrival of qi)feelings. Thereby, an appropriate standardization evaluation system for acupuncture skills would be created gradually.

To observe the features of acupuncture needle twirling manipulations in order to promote the development of objective and quantitative performance standards of acupuncture manipulation. Twelve expert acupuncturists and 12 novices were enrolled in this study. Everyone of them was instructed to perform 10 trials of the uniform reinforcing and reducing technique of acupuncture on an artificial skin-pad that was mounted to a six-axis force transducer and each subject had his or her dominant hand index finger affixed with an infrared light emitting diode for acquiring parameters of acupuncture needle manipulation. The force transducer was used to measure the force the participant applied as they held an acupuncture needle to stimulate the skin-pad, and at the mean time, an optoelectric camera was employed to measure the position of the diode. In comparison with the expert acupuncturist group, the straggling coefficient of needle-twirling frequency was significantly bigger in the novice group (P < 0.01), suggesting a higher consistency in the trial-by-trial needle-twirling operation of the expert acupuncturists. Comparison of the needle-twirling force showed that the force values of the Z-axis in both expert group and novice group were considerably higher than those of the X-axis and Y-axis in the same one group (P < 0.01). The time of pre-needle-twirling of the novice group was markedly longer than that of the expert group (P < 0.01), suggesting a skilled operation technique of the expert acupuncturists. No significant differences were found between the expert acupuncturist group and novice group in the needle-twirling amplitude, frequency, force and total operation time (P > 0.05). Movement frequency consistency and temporal efficiency are the action features of expert acupuncturists in performing the uniform reducing-reinforcing twirling skill, which differentiates the performances of experts from novices. The assessment and training of this acupuncture skill should focus on these kinematic features.

Internet of Things (IoT), a new information technology, has obviously prompted the interest of building management. Stadiums are symbol buildings of many cities, investments on their modern upgrade can be sustainable and aesthetically pleasing. Any investment will be in focus by the public. However, lacking decision-making methodology for judging the income makes it difficult to upgrade the stadium by the owners. This paper has proposed a conceptual model of IoT-aided stadium information system (SIS) basing Internet of Things (IoT). Using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), a Multi-Criteria Decision Making template was designed for comparing SIS with a conventional SIS that is in use at the Nanjing Olympic Center of China. The results showed that IoT-aided SIS was more meaningful and efficient than conventional SIS. With IoT, SIS helps stadium and enlarge its functional capability for local community and provides potential for the sports marketing. As an experimental technology, the key for IoT-aided SIS is the typical applications that provide standard and reference for future applications. © Qiang Ye.

L-Arginine (L-Arg) supplementation has been shown to enhance physical exercise capacity and delay onset of fatigue. This work investigated the potential beneficial mechanism(s) of L-Arg supplementation by examining its effect on the cellular oxidative and nitrosative stress pathways in the exercised rats. Forty-eight rats were randomly divided into six groups: sedentary control; sedentary control with L-Arg treatment; endurance training (daily swimming training for 8 wk) control; endurance training with L-Arg treatment; an exhaustive exercise (one time swimming to fatigue) control; and an exhaustive exercise with L-Arg treatment. L-Arg (500 mg/kg body wt) or saline was given to rats by intragastric administration 1 h before the endurance training and the exhaustive swimming test. Expression levels and activities of the L-Arg/nitric oxide (NO) pathway components and parameters of the oxidative stress and antioxidant defense capacity were investigated in L-Arg-treated and control rats. The result show that the L-Arg supplementation completely reversed the exercise-induced activation of NO synthase and superoxide dismutase, increased L-Arg transport capacity, and increased NO and anti-superoxide anion levels. These data demonstrate that L-Arg supplementation effectively reduces the exercise-induced imbalance between ox-idative stress and antioxidant defense capacity, and this modulation is likely mediated through the L-Arg/NO pathways. The findings of this study improved our understanding of how L-Arg supplementation prevents elevations of reactive oxygen species and favorably enhances the antioxidant defense capacity during physical exercise. China puts more and more attentions to social public sports facility construction, studying on China social public sports facility utilization status has important significances in guiding national sports investment. The paper analyzes China social public sports facility utilization status by literature searching method and data statistical analysis method, it discovers Chinese sports facility cannot meet people demands, and has imbalanced utilization ratio status. To balance the status, the paper utilizes analytic hierarchy process, establishes factor analysis model, and by virtue of MATLAB software, it analyzes consideration factors that people select sports facilities, and gets each kind of influence factors weight. It is clear that factors of people mainly consideration are whether facility has fitness efficiency, equipment is complete or not, and whether it has losing weight efficiency. According to consideration factors, it makes suggestions on country as following: remove lower utilization ratio sports facilities to densely populated housing estates, parks; lay particular stress on housing estates’ old people sports facilities and district level national fitness activity center construction; focus on old sports facilities maintenance. © Jianguo Zhu; Licensee Bentham Open.

Objective: To study the effect of exercise on phagocytosis by pulmonary bronchoalveolar macrophages (BAMs). Methods: A total of 120 seven- to nine-week-old male BALB/c mice were randomly assigned into the following groups based on exercise intensity on a treadmill: control exercise (CE) group, acute moderate exercise (ME) group, and strenuous exercise group. Lung lavage was conducted to collect BAMs from the mice. Phagocytic behavior and surface receptor expression on BALB/c mouse BAMs were analyzed through fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry. Results: In the SE group, expression levels of macrophage scavenger receptors (surface receptor [SR-A] type I/II and macrophage receptor [MARCO], complement receptor3 (CR3), and intercellular adhesion molecule 1 (ICAM-1) were upregulated; by contrast, expression level of extensive G-type immune globulin receptor (Fc Rs) was not upregulated. The promoting percentage of phagocytosis in the CE group was 100%; the highest promoting percentage of phagocytosis was 161% observed in MARCO, followed by 116% detected in CR3; the promoting percentage of phagocytosis found in SR-A type I/II and ICAM-1 increased by approximately 65%. Indeed, these scavenger receptors were involved in phagocytosis induced by macrophages. MARCO was also necessary to elicit a stimulatory effect on macrophage phagocytic activity. Conclusions: The phagocytosis of unopsonized particles was possibly mediated by MARCO expression.
