Substation network video surveillance system, namely, remote vision system has resolved some remote monitoring problems in unattended substations. Multiple substations can achieve simultaneously on-line remote video monitoring by applying streaming media servers in monitoring centers. Considering that traditional streaming media server system based on x86 PC in Windows operating system is deficient in safety, stability and efficiency, a new design of high-performance streaming media server is proposed based on embedded Linux system. Featured as low cost and low power loss and enhanced stability, this new streaming media server can be regarded as a preferable alternative to existing remote streaming media server devices. © 2010 State Grid Electric Power Research Institute Press. A NVR (Network Video Recorder) software platform is developed based on ONVIF protocol framework. ONVIF protocol is applied in the interactive communication among IP cameras, NVR server and clients, which improves the openness of devices. GWT is applied in the development of Web pages, which enables the remote control of NVR devices on various kinds of browser without any plug-in. An application of the developed NVR in substation video monitoring system shows its effectiveness and superiority. Source

The effects of backward error and eccentricity error of PTZ synchronous belt drive on the transmission precision are expounded, the error mathematical model is established, and the numerical simulation of the transmission error is carried out. A software compensation control method for the presetting position precision based on the normalized cross-correlation algorithm is presented, the normalized cross-correlation algorithm is improved through decreasing the searching points. The error offset value is obtained through the image matching of two similar pictures. To verify the rationality of the optimum design method, the experiments on presetting position accuracy were carried out. The results indicate that reducing backlash and eccentric errors of synchronous belt transmission can decrease the presetting position error; the presetting position accuracy is improved by more than 60% with error software compensation.
