We present ab initio calculations for spin-dependent electron transport in a molecular device constructed by two carbon chains capped with a phenyl ring, which is sandwiched between two zig-zag-edged graphene nanoribbon (ZGNR) electrodes, where the ZGNRs are modulated by external magnetic field. The coexistence of switching, dual spin-filtering effects, and negative differential resistance (NDR) in the model device is demonstrated with the theory of carbon π-electrons. Interestingly, a two-state molecular conformational switch can be realized by changing the orientation between the planes of phenyl ring and electrodes, where the majority-spin current modulation (ON/OFF ratio) is 170-479 within the considered bias window. Moreover, the device shows perfect dual spin-filtering effect and can generate and control a full dual spin-polarized current through either the source-drain voltage or magnetic configuration of the electrodes. The selective spin current is due to a dual selection rule, the symmetry match between two ZGNR electrodes spin channel, and the carbon chain's spin selection in our system. In addition, the obvious NDR behavior has also been observed in our model. © 2011 American Chemical Society.

In this study, we investigate the correlation between group local number density and total luminosity of groups. In four volume-limited group catalogs, we can conclude that groups with high luminosity exist preferentially in high-density regions, while groups with low luminosity are located preferentially in low-density regions, and that in a volume-limited group sample with absolute magnitude limit Mr = -18, the correlation between group local number density and total luminosity of groups is the weakest. These results basically are consistent with the environmental dependence of galaxy luminosity. © 2012. The American Astronomical Society. All rights reserved.

Using two volume-limited Main galaxy samples of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 7 , we explore influences of galaxy interactions on AGN activity. It is found that in the faint volume-limited sample, paired galaxies have a slightly higher AGN fraction than isolated galaxies, whereas in the luminous volume-limited sample, an opposite trend can be observed. The significance is <1σ. Thus, we do not observe strong evidence that interactions or mergers likely trigger the AGN activity. © 2013 Astronomical Society of Australia.

With homologous DNA probes, we had screened a grass carp heat shock protein 90 gene (CiHsp90). The full sequence of CiHsp90 cDNA was 2793. bp, which could code a 798 amino acids peptide. The phylogenetic analysis demonstrated that CiHsp90 shared the high homology with Zebrafish Grp94. Quantitative RT-PCR analysis showed that CiHsp90 was ubiquitously expressed at lower levels in all detected tissues and up-regulated after heat shock at 34. °C or cold stress at 4. °C. To understand the function of CiHsp90 involving in thermal protection, an expression vector containing coding region cDNA was expressed in E. coli BL21 (DE3) plysS. Upon transfer from 37. °C to 42. °C, these cells that accumulated CiHsp90 peptides displayed greater thermoresistance than the control cells. While incubated at 4. °C for different periods, it could also improve the cell viability. After transient transfected recombinant plasmid pcDNA3.1/. CiHsp90 into mouse myeloma cell line SP2/0, we found that CiHsp90 could contribute to protecting cells against both thermal and cold extremes. On the contrary, the mutant construct {up triangle, open}N-CiHsp90 (256-798. aa) could abolish the protection activity both in prokaryotic cells and eukaryotic cells. Additionally, both CiHsp90 and {up triangle, open}N-CiHsp90 peptides could reduce the level of citrate synthase aggregation at the high temperature. © 2012 Elsevier Ltd.

Two schemes for controlled dense coding with a four-particle entangled state are investigated, one with entanglement concentration and the other with generalized measurement. In these protocols, the supervisor (Cliff) can control the average amount of information transmitted from the sender (Alice and David) to the receiver (Bob) only by adjusting his local measurement angle θ. It is shown that the results for the average amounts of information are unique from the different two schemes. © 2010 Springer Science+Business Media, LLC.

Generally, the methods to evaluate network performance include analytical method, numerical method and simulation method. Nowadays, emulation is the main method to analyse computer network communication system. This paper discusses a general approach to evaluate network performance which includes bandwidth, latency, jitter, throughput and computer simulation method to analyse LAN performance. In order to avoid potential traffic dangers, as well as to prevent the occurrence of traffic accidents, this paper manages to build a traffic safety early warning system by using Technology of Internet of Things. First, this paper has a general review of related researches. Then, it analyzes basic structures of intelligent traffic safety early warning systems based on Technology of Internet of Things, and establishes data collection and calculation model for traffic flow, following with analysis of traffic safety early warning and responding technologies.
