The online indirect measurement principle of the retention by using Metso KajaaniRM3 wet end analyzer to measure the consistencies of the fiber and calcium carbonate in the white water under the wire was introduced. Potassium citrate & sodium citrate were used in different dosages and proportion as burning additives to prepare cigarette paper samples, and cigarette samples were also be prepared accordingly in order to find out that effects of different dosage and proportion of the burning additives in cigarette paper on cigarette static burning speed. The result showed that: (1) Higher amount of potassium citrate or sodium citrate increased cigarette static burning speed. In the cigarette paper industry, most of the permeability measurement equipments were imported. The imported equipment and its spare parts were very expensive and it took long time for order. Based on the study of permeability measurement principle and the software and hardware of imported air permeability instrument, we have manufactured our own on-line air permeability meter installation, its cost and its spare parts costs were much lower than the imported equipment and the measurement accuracy is also able to fully meet the technical requirements.


Disclosed are a gravure printing machine and method for producing cigarette paper (11) having fire-retardant bands (2). The gravure printing machine comprises a fire-retardant printing device consisting of a printing machine roller (3) and a rubber engaging roller (10); the fire-retardant bands are printed on the cigarette paper by means of the fire-retardant printing device. The gravure printing machine also comprises a drying device and a pressing device. The drying device comprises a drying cylinder (12) located downstream of the printing machine roller and the rubber engaging roller. The cigarette paper comes into tight contact with the drying cylinder after passing through a contact point between the printing machine roller and the rubber engaging roller. The pressing device comprises an upper press roller (14) and a lower press roller (15) arranged in parallel to and in contact with the upper press roller. The cigarette paper passes through the contact point between the upper press roller and the lower press roller. In the gravure printing machine, the paper is first printed, then dried, and then pressed; thereby reducing the likelihood of paper deformation and wrinkling, as well as the coating thickness of the fire-retardant bands.


The present invention relates to a fire retardant, a cigarette paper with the fire retardant strip and the method for manufacturing the cigarette paper. The fire retardant comprises 10%-30% film-forming material by weight, 10%-30% filling material by weight and 40%-80% solvent. At least one fire retardant strip is provided on a front side and/or back side of the cigarette paper by printing a fire retardant, and the width of the fire retardant strip is 2-8mm. The present invention relates to the technology of manufacturing a cigarette paper with fire retardant strip, and strip coatings with a distance with each other are printed on the cigarette base paper so that gas permeability is reduced in the area of the strip coatings. When the cigarette naturally burns to the area of the fire retardant strip, the cigarette is self-extinguished as the fire retardant strip absorbs the heat and reduces the entry of the oxygen; when the cigarette burns to the area of the fire retardant strip, if the cigarette is smoked, the oxygen would enter into the cigarette, and the cigarette would continue to burn.


The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for manufacturing a cigarette paper with a fire retardant strip. The apparatus comprises a first and a second coating roller arranged in contact with and parallel to each other and having an opposite axially rotational direction with each other; wherein a contact position between said first and second coating rollers is provided through which said cigarette paper passes; and, wherein a feeding tube with a plurality of feeding nozzles is provided outside said first and/or said second coating roller. In order to print a fire retardant on one surface or both surfaces of the cigarette paper with the fire retardant strip, the method according to the present invention comprises applying a coating layer of diffusion-resistant and osmosis-resistant material, like oxidized starch or carboxy methyl cellulose sodium, on a surface of a raw sheet of a cigarette paper, such that the raw sheet of the cigarette paper has certain diffusion-resistant and permeability resistance and achieves reduction of corrugation during the printing of the fire retardant on the strip. It can also increase tensile strength of the cigarette paper and improve surface performance of the cigarette paper.
