The effect of a single pulse of electric current on the mechanical property of advanced high strength steels (AHSS) under quasi-static tensile loads is investigated by experiments. During a typical quasi-static tensile test, electric current is applied to a specimen for a short duration (less than 1 second) while the specimen is in plastic region. The stress-strain curve shows that the flow stress almost instantly decreases significantly (stress-drop) when the electric current is applied, while the tensile strength from the following stress-strain curve after the short pulse of electric current is not changed much. The experimental result suggests that the stress-drop at the moment of a short pulse of electric current can be effectively used to reduce the springback of material, as successfully demonstrated in the present study. © 2014 Korean Society for Precision Engineering and Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg. A storage apparatus for a vehicle may include a rear bumper having a back beam mounted under an inner space thereof, a storage case provided in a space above the rear bumper and drawn-out/drawn-in by being sled to the outside in the state in which a load is supported by the top of the back beam, and a bumper door rotatably provided on an end of the storage case so as to open and close the storage case and formed so that a portion exposed to the outside coincides with an outer surface of the rear bumper.

A method of assembling a sub-frame of a vehicle with the front side member of the vehicle includes integrally forming a supporting end of a mounting nut that protrudes in a radial direction in a center of an external circumference of the mounting nut, forming a through hole in a lower surface of the front side member, forming a seat as a groove in an internal surface of the through hole, inserting a lower end of the mounting nut into the through hole so that the supporting end is supported by a circumference of the through hole, settling a head of the mounting nut in the seat, and welding the supporting end and the head along the circumference of the through hole and a side of the seat to assemble the sub-frame to the front side member.

A mounting unit for a sub-frame of a vehicle is provided. The mounting unit is used for engaging a front side member with the vehicles sub-frame. The mounting unit includes a welding seat that is formed as a groove on a lower side of the front side member. The mounting unit further includes a mounting nut assembled with the front side member, a welding flange integrated with an external circumference and a head of the mounting nut and inserted into the welding seat to be combined with the welding seat, and a member seat that is formed outside the welding flange and with which a fender upper connecting member is combined.
