Results are considered of study of climate global warming effects on hail climatology and on technique of estimation of physical efficiency of hail protection taking account of the region hail danger trend. It is found that during last 30 years, occurrence frequency of hail and the number of heavy hailstorms in the mountainous areas of the Northern Caucasus decreased, on average, by a factor of 1.5-2, and in the foothill areas increased by 15-20%. It is shown that efficiency of hail protection works should be estimated taking into account the hail danger trend for each region. © 2011 Allerton Press, Inc. Source

Carried out is the numerical modeling of the scattering indicatrix, linear polarization rate, and depolarization factor in the developing convective cloud based on the convection jet model using the Mi functions for millimeter and centimeter wavelength ranges. The analysis of the results demonstrated that the values of these parameters depend strongly on the scattering angle for any wavelength and at any height of the convective cloud. It is shown that these characteristics vary significantly if there is increase in the droplet size in the spectrum and decrease in the wavelength. Revealed is the inverse dependence between the scattering indicatrix values and the polarization (depolarization). At such scattering angles where the scattering indicatrix is maximal, polarization and depolarization are minimal. © 2014, Allerton Press, Inc. Source

The hail cloud parameters are computed on the basis of jet convection model using the real atmospheric stratification. Basing on statements of general theory of systems, possibilities are considered to use the Lotki-Volterra model describing behavior of the system of consumer-resource (object-resource) for biological populations, in description of evolution elements of convective cloud (convective cell). A non-stationary numerical model for isotope composition formation of cloud particles is developed. The improved model consists of three blocks: hydrothermodynamic, microphysical, and isotope. The latter block contains equations for calculation of isotope content in water vapor and in the cloud particles.
