The list of Ghana Pterophoridae includes 22 species, with 14 species first recorded from Ghana. Orneodes zonodactyla var. eumorphodactyla Caradja, 1920 is regarded as a valid species with the following combination: Pterotopteiyx eumorphodactyla (Caradja, 1920), comb.nov. Aluctta sakhalintca Zagulajev, 1995 and Pterotopteryx koreana Bong-Kyu Byun, 2006, are synonymized with Pterotopteiyx eumorphodactyla (Caradja, 1920). New data on the distribution of P. eumorphodactyla and Alucita ussurica Ustjuzhanin, 1999 in the Russian Far East are given.

An overview of Alucitidae species from Malawi is presented, with 20 species reported. Five of them are described as new for science: Alucita nyasa Ustjuzhanin & Kovtunovich sp. nov., Alucita aarviki Ustjuzhanin & Kovtunovich sp. nov., Alucita malawica Ustjuzhanin & Kovtunovich sp. nov., Alucita murphy Ustjuzhanin & Kovtunovich sp. nov. and Alucita sochivkoi Ustjuzhanin & Kovtunovich sp. nov. Four new synonyms are established. The following species are considered synonyms of Alucita seychellensis (T.B.Fletcher, 1910): Alucita granata (Meyrick, 1921) syn. nov., and Alucita imbrifera (Meyrick, 1929) syn. nov. Alucita myriodesma (Meyrick, 1929) is considered a junior synonym of Alucita ectomesa (Hering, 1917) syn. nov., and Alucita isodina (Meyrick, 1920) a synonym of Alucita spicifera (Meyrick, 1911) syn. nov. Four new species of Agdistis (Pterophoridae) are described from Southern Africa: Agdistis sergeii Kovtunovich & Ustjuzhanin sp. Nov., Agdistis wolframi Kovtunovich & Ustjuzhanin sp. Nov., Agdistis pseudomeyi Kovtunovich & Ustjuzhanin sp. Nov. And Agdistis ruhanga Kovtunovich & Ustjuzhanin sp. Nov. In addition, descriptions and images of the previously unknown female genitalia of three species are given: A. insolitus Kovtunovich & Ustjuzhanin, 2010, A. meyi Arenberger, 2008 and A. toliarensis Bigot, 1987. New combinations are established for six species: Marasmarcha bengtssoni (Gielis, 2009) comb. nov.; Marasmarcha locharcha (Meyrick, 1924) comb. nov.; Marasmarcha rubriacuta (Gielis, 2009) comb. nov.; Procapperia insomnis (Townsend, 1956) comb. nov.; Crassuncus ecstaticus (Meyrick, 1932) comb. nov.; Crassuncus colubratus (Meyrick, 1909) comb. nov. For Stenoptilia viettei Gibeaux, 1994, Sphenarches bifurcatus Gielis, 2009, Crassuncus ecstaticus (Meyrick, 1932) images of the male genitalia are presented for the first time, for Marasmarcha bengtssoni (Gielis, 2009), and Stenodacma cognata Gielis, 2009 female genitalia are illustrated for the first time. Species of wide pantropical or cosmopolitan distribution are not reported as new for the fauna of Malawi. However, 65 species of Pterophoridae are reported for the fauna of Malawi for the first time. One of them, Stenoptilia viettei Gibeaux, 1994, described from Madagascar, is reported for continental Africa for the first time. © 2014 Magnolia Press.
